12291 isn't an available build. Please read the peacock announcement. You may find something useful there.

I am not aware of any dd-wrt router that doesn't work in client mode, using the recommended builds.

client mode confirmed working on 2 of my WHR-G300N routers running on 12533 build (host router is WRT54G though)

wiki says to use WEP, but I have all 3 routers on WPA-TKIP

will be trying client bridge mode tomorrow

One Router acts as an AP. The other router in Client Mode acts like a client eg. a wireless NIC from a Notebook. Other clients can`t connect to this router wireless, but physically connected.

You can choose this option from the Wireless tab - Basic-Settings.
