How do I fix this problem with my WRT54G v2, or is it bricke

This is a g2 v1.3 booting... The hardware error at the end is when I unplugged it.:

So... I don't know what to say except clear nvram & kernel with jtag or just keep trying. Several have posted that they "finally got it"

This has been reported to work on more than the 610. Try it. However your router is in "limbo" but worth a shot.

Nope, those didn't work. I'm going to keep trying but I think I'll eventually have to use the JTAG.

Turned off windows firewall and the tftp utility worked fine.

Now what version should I throw on here?

That's a OMFG moment, never heard that before. I'm running the latest Eko newd not newd2 with no issues whatsoever.

No but the build is good, that's why I referenced it. You have to decide for yourself, you can run any the 12XXX series or go with something older just not v23.

I don't test BrainSlayer builds so I can't speak on them. Personally I would grab one from Eko ftp://dd-wrt.com/others/eko/V24_TNG/

But once again *not* newd2.

to clear this up, i have a wrt54g v.2 i guess you guys would put it, not the newer sleeker looking wrt54g2.

Successful upgrade. I'm posting while it is in use now. I want to thank everyone for their help.
