i have the a ecb-3500 and need help on setting up the settings for an external antenna.

i have a 12db omnidirectional antenna hooked up on the primary antenna.

now on the original firmware all i did was changed settings from diversity to primary and changed the db power.


the problem is is that i flashed ddwrt and it works as a access point router which is perfect, but how to setup the settings using one non-diversity omnidirectional antenna.

can someone help me with this... i cant understand what power settings to set..

In Wireless Basic Settings:

Regulatory Domain: UNITED_STATES
TX Power: 20dBm
Antenna Gain: 0dBi

Above settings gives you the max. power of 27dBm!
The TX Power in and output does not work in WRT on the ECB3500. It gives you the wrong info at the status page.

20dBm is 27dBm

(antenna gain must be given in dB's and not dBi's)

Antenna gain of 10dBi is about 7dB.
Axample settings: TX Power 18dBm. Antenna Gain 7dB.
Unit power is: 18dBm - 7dB = 11dBm (see status page) gives you 18dBm ERP (power from the ant.)

Which one is the Antenna # 1?

The closest to the plug power? or the closest to ethernet port?

I don´t see any diference connecting an external antenna to left or right. :(

Which is the right dd-wrt version to download and install? and how much it cost?
