hmmm...very strange...configured a new EOC5610 with basic client/bridge settings and accessed the internet to activate and once i input the activation key, it rebooted...now, only the power light comes on...no LAN, no WLAN, no access...i would try to reinstall dd-wrt firmware, but i don't have any access...any ideas?...i used the latest EOC5610 fw and configured only the basic settings in the "trial" fw before accessing the internet to activate...thanks in advance....;-}

thanks Sash...i would and did try to reflash, but the EOC-5610 doesn't respond at all...only the power light comes on...the unit doesn't respond to telnet, icmp, or UI at all...in other words, can't even gain access to redboot...kinda really weird...i put dd-wrt on it, put the activation key in it, rebooted & lost all access after that...anymore ideas?...;-}

with a old firmwares there could be such a problem if you activated the device just after it bootet up. (since the unit was running some internal processes which are accessing he flash memory too, but bootup process was no complete)
so if you want to activate it with the earlier firmwares. let it boot up and wait for 1-2 minutes. then activate. this problem has been resolved with newer versions

thanks BS...i installed the newest Engenius fw (1.1.7) before flashing w/the newest dd-wrt fw, so this doesn't sound like the issue...i also had the EOC-5610 up an running for several minutes before activation...again, the EOC-5610 has no access at all...only a power light...i can't access redboot nor icmp, now UI...the unit basically responds to nothing...really strange...since the unit doesn't have JTAG, it looks like this unit might officially be bricked....again, the unit was booted w/the newest trail version of dd-wrt for several minutes before i activated it...if the unit is deemed bricked i might b able to get my supplier to give me another one, but can i get another activation to replace the one that is "stuck" on this unit?....just asking....;-}

yes it is bricked. unfortunatly for sure. the bootloader is basicly broken which is touched by the activation procedure. as i said i was running into the same problem (but not for all devices, just 2 out of 30) in the past. so i got notice of it and solved it in newer versions (newer means i solved it 6 weeks ago or something like that)

k...since u say it's bricked, do u feel good about trying another one?...i've got my supplier cross shipping me another one, but i obviously have used one of my activations on the bricked one...is there any way to move my "bricked activation" to the new EOC-5610 that's on the way to me?....;-}

Sash,...i did flash the latest build on the EOC-5610....BS just told me in this thread that he had seen a couple of these units do the same thing mine did....which is completely STOP working...no access to redboot, no LAN, no WLAN, no nothing....the unit was working fine w/the TRIAL dd-wrt firmware installed and bricked only after activation...so, the only question i have now is, since the unit bricked on activation, shouldn't i b entitled to having my activation COUNT RESTORED instead of having to pay for another activation once my replacement EOC5610 arrives....;-}

well, the replacement EOC-5610 took the dd-wrt fw like the bricked unit, but at least the replacement didn't brick after dd-wrt activation...very strange...this is the dd-wrt version i used to initially install dd-wrt "v24-sp2 (05/21/09) std - build 12188" straight from the database search feature even though the database reports that the firmware is dated 03Jun2K9...either way, it did install and activation was successful on the replacement unit...time to start testing....thanks for your assistance Sash & BS....;-}

Hi,

I have the same problem...

I updated the eoc-5610 to the latest firmware from their site, and the device is kindda bricked.

After reboot i have ping for about 5 seconds, and after that, no connection to it.

I have power and lan leds on, and that's it.

any suggestions ?
(i'm a reseller of engenius, so returning means sending back to china :)

I've mailed them , for advice, but so far no response.
