Hi guys,
I am unsure as to how to troubleshoot this. I have a Linksys WRT-54g with the latest v24 SP1.
Everything works perfectly. Last week I added a Wireless Printer (Brother MFC-665CW) to my network, I setup a static IP on DD-WRT for this purpose.
Quote: 192.168.3.148 is static using the MAC-ID + netbios name
Now, the printer connects to wireless without a hitch. I can ping it from my other computer on the network just fine.
However, if the network between dd-wrt and my printer is idle for a long time the printer can no longer be pinged from any hosts on my network
The DHCP settings on my DD-WRT specificy the default range to be from 100 to 149.
When the timeout occurs, Windows complains that "Network unreachable, 192.168.3.149"
Which seems to point out to the last IP of the DHCP.
Now, I log into DD-wrt web portal, and simply go into SETUP and click "Apply settings" and then I can ping the printer just fine.
How can I fix this?
Thanks

Not sure what is wrong, but a quick and easy fix could be to set up a cron job to ping the router once every 10 mins.

Just did this. We will see if tomorrow morning I can ping the printer.
