I have tried many times and followed all instructions and the VPN version either installs and then soon after I start making setup changes the power light starts blinking nonstop or it gets into that mode right at the end of install. The only version that I successfully install without these issues is the mini version "dd-wrt.v24-9893_NEWD_mini_wndr3300.chk"

Has anyone seen this behavior or gotten the VPN version to install correctly without this issue on this particular Netgear model? I am ready to give up after trying for several days, but would love to hear what wisdom this community might be able to offer. Thank you.

Very bottom go to the .txt file.

Use the dd-wrt.v24-11604_NEWD_mini_wndr3300.chk file first, than use the approved .bin versions listed in that directory.

Hey thanks again. I will give it a try and see if the build you suggested work better. I bought another LinkSys WRT310N to match my first since nothing I did made a difference to the Netgear hardware. But, I still have the Netgear and am curious to know. I will let you know. Thanks again.

I gave this a try last night with the latest (Feb 13, 2009 build I think) and it worked! Saved me a $140. Just wanted to thank you for the tip.
