I'm getting the following errors when setting up ddns:
Quote:
Tue Feb 24 12:34:08 2009: INADYN:IP: Error '0x92' resolving host name 'checkip.dyndns.org'
Tue Feb 24 12:34:08 2009: W: DYNDNS: Error 'RC_IP_INVALID_REMOTE_ADDR' (0x12) when talking to IP server
Tue Feb 24 12:34:08 2009: W:'RC_IP_INVALID_REMOTE_ADDR' (0x12) updating the IPs. (it 97)
the dd-wrt router is running in Repeater Bridge mode, connected to a gateway that has ports 80 and 8080(tcp) forwarded to the dd-wrt router.
When i manually update my IP Address through the DynDNS.com website, the dd-wrt router can be accessed using my.host.name in a web browser.

went thru 10 pages of search for ddns, still no answer.
Why could inadyn be giving the following errors?
Quote:
Tue Feb 24 12:34:08 2009: INADYN:IP: Error '0x92' resolving host name 'checkip.dyndns.org'
Tue Feb 24 12:34:08 2009: W: DYNDNS: Error 'RC_IP_INVALID_REMOTE_ADDR' (0x12) when talking to IP server

How can it not resolve the host name "checkip.dyndns.org" when i can manually ping it from the router?
Is it in fact possible to run the ddns client (build 11218M NEWD Eko) in repeapter bridge mode with the WAN disabled?
If you setup the RB unit normally and setup your DDNS on the host unit it should just pass this DNS information through to the RB.
the host doesnt have DDNS client. It's an aiport express (10.0.1.1) in AP ("create a wireless network" in macspeak) mode serving DHCP from 10.0.1.2 to 10.0.1.200
the dd-wrt router is set to 10.0.1.2

Try setting up the unit as a straight Repeater (instructions in wiki also)
Then it will be its own DHCP server and you should be able to setup DDNS that way.
You're right. Switched to straight Repeater and can finally ping google.com and DDNS client is reporting:

isnt the only difference that im on a different subnet?
Well there is more than that.
If your on a different subnet, devices (computers) that are connected to your Host can't talk to devices that are connected to the Repeater.
If that doesn't matter to you then it is fine. If you are trying to set up a network where all devices can access each other and share each others data then you need a bridged setup.
try it for awhile...if you run into problems...let us know...maybe we can come up with another solution.

I have my R7000 is repeater Bridge mode and i want to setup DDNS. This is what I am getting:
Wed Dec 31 19:07:16 1969: INADYN: Started 'INADYN Advanced version 1.96-ADV' - dynamic DNS updater.
Wed Dec 31 19:07:21 1969: INADYN:IP: Error '0x16' resolving host name 'ip1.dynupdate.no-ip.com'
Wed Dec 31 19:07:21 1969: W: DYNDNS: Error 'RC_IP_INVALID_REMOTE_ADDR' (0x12) when talking to IP server
Wed Dec 31 19:07:21 1969: W:'RC_IP_INVALID_REMOTE_ADDR' (0x12) updating the IPs. (it 0)
I have set my local DNS in setup > Basic Setup as 192.168.1.1 which is my main router.
