Here is another problem I'm unable to solve right now.
My friend recently bought Buffalo WHR-G125 router and I flashed it with DD-wrt. Its firmware version is standard generic, date (10/10/2009). The connection is standard PPPoE connection and he is able to download files in normal fashion, torrent and other are working just fine but as soon as he starts to seed files or/and when he sends files with Skype the connection drops.
My friend is using Windows Xp Home Edition, SP3 and I have checked the settings many times. Any clues where to begin to look for answers?
When we connect his computer straight to his ADSL-box (Cisco LRE ...can't remember its number) the problem doesn't exist so there must be something wrong with Buffalo+ DD-WRT. ANy help would be appreciated!
Ok. I have upgraded my WHR-G54S with DD-WRT v24-sp2 (07/22/09) std - build 12548M NEWD Eko . I will go to see my friend tomorrow and I will upgrade his WHR-G125 with the same firmware. Hopefully it will fix the upload problem.
Thank you very very much in advance. At least my Buffalo is working just fine
The problem didn't go away after all. The connection is still hanging up is he tries to upload some files to his friends. We'll try it with another network card one day and see if the problem still exist.
Read the whole thing, but especially #10. Changing the timeouts to 600 is good. The Peacock thread recommends setting it to 120, but that is too low for me and will kill IM connections and the like. I personally set mine to 300, but 600 will work too.
You'll also want to change the maximum number of connections or "ports" to 4096 if you have 16MB of RAM.
