The problem I'm facing right now is finding a utility I can run off /jffs.
I need something compact, preferably an open-wrt version of scsi-idle or something similar, but can't find anything.
With optware being on the HD, I can't run a spin down utility from there. _________________ WRT350N Eko Mega 11296 + HDsamba2 v4 beta

There may be an error in detecting how much /jffs there is.
Post the result of $ mount too please.
The attached install script fakes out the jffs check. If this is your only problem you're fine with this. There is a chance ofcourse that this is telling us something else is wrong with your config.
Unzip, copy the script to /tmp to run.
REMOVED, not applicable to your problem. _________________ WRT350N Eko Mega 11296 + HDsamba2 v4 beta

Didn't think I would have enough space on the actual router itself. _________________

$ df
will tell you if you have enough
I appreciate you're trying to be inventive, but the whole point of the JFFS partition in a HDsamba setup, is you can use it to check drives BEFORE they are mounted. So you using a drive as JFFS kind of mucks things up a bit. Not to mention partition 1 is reserved for optware, and HDsamba files as per instructions.
Have a look over the install prerequisites. You're looking at modifying a signifigant amount of code to get your method to work... and you could potentially never detect HD problems. _________________ WRT350N Eko Mega 11296 + HDsamba2 v4 beta

Post result of $ df when you can.
If that's a 2mb flash router, I think there is little chance of success. I'm guess a 4mb flash router is the minimum for HDsamba2... but I may be wrong. _________________ WRT350N Eko Mega 11296 + HDsamba2 v4 beta

You don't seem to be able to enable /jffs on your router.
It's 2mb of flash right? Important find the answer to this one!
If so I would suggest doing a search for slim-samba. Probably best option for you.
If not, you need to enable JFFS in the web gui. Try looking at the HDsamba2 wiki page, it's the first post in this thread.
Also, I would unmount your partitions as there are now before going forward. _________________ WRT350N Eko Mega 11296 + HDsamba2 v4 beta

Then you just need to go through your webgui. But I would strongly suggest you unmount the drive and disconnect it for now. Configure your router as suggested if you intend to try HDsamba2. As of right now if appears you don't have /jffs enabled, and your HD is using it as a mount point.
If you have 4mb you're good. You just need to take a bit of time and set up the router first.
Good luck. _________________ WRT350N Eko Mega 11296 + HDsamba2 v4 beta
I'm using Gparted on my usb HD, but I don't think I am doing it right. Got any advise? _________________
