Is there any way to get OpenVPN server loaded on the WHR-G300N? I don't see any builds with it included.

I just got mine in from newegg and the only version i can load on it is 030309....seems like everyone else is experiencing this, what gives? There are tons of releases yet none seem to load/work?

Hope I didn't waste my money!

I have BS 12615 (08/06/09) on mine, it seems to work well as a Repeater Bridge (although I have not used/tested it extensively since I really prefer using WDS over Repeater Bridging).

I just got my units from newegg this morning. I installed BS 12615, but for some reason or another can't get Repeater Bridge working. I followed the tutorial found here: http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge but I think something else is missing.

Would you mind posting your config for both AP and Repeater Bridge nodes?

The working configuration is a network with three routers:
- WDS LAN with one primary Internet GW router (WRT300N v1.1) and one remote AP (WRT54G v2), interconnected with STP On.
- Repeater Bridge (WHR-G300N) connecting to nearest AP
- All routers use same SSID
- Encryption is WPA Personal w/ AES.
- Primary router: WAN Link On with address dynamically assigned by ISP, DHCP Server On, NAT/Firewall On, UPnP On.
- Remote AP: WAN Link Off, DHCP Server Off, NAT/Firewall Off.
- Repeater Bridge (WHR-G300N): NAT/Firewall Off.
- All other configuration knobs (except for Time-Zone and DST selection) left in their default setting.

Are you using mixed-mode for wireless or N-only or G-only?

BTW, I noticed both of my units have identical MAC addresses...could this be why my units can't hold a connection with each other?

I used the default mode setting -- mixed-mode.

That is odd and would definitely be a problem. You might want to do a hard reset and re-enter the configuration settings from scratch. If that does not work, you can try using the MAC Clone feature to (re)set the MAC address to the value that was originally set by the Manufacturer.
I had encountered a slightly different problem with wireless MAC address with one of the recent v24 builds: I noticed the value identified by DD-WRT is not the same as the one the router had originally (DD WRT seems to like to assume that LAN, WAN, and WiFi MAC addresses are assigned contiguously). I used the MAC Clone feature to reset it, and Repeater Bridge came up like a charm.

I just took a closer look. Wireless MAC address for both units are different from each other. But LAN Mac addresses are identical on both units. WAN MAC addresses are also identical.

Update: I'm finally getting somewhere! I can ping the repeater bridge router from my AP router. But I can't ping the AP router from my repeater bridge router. If I have a wired client connected to the AP router, I can ping the repeater bridge router as well. But if I move this wired client to the repeater bridge router, I'm unable to ping the AP router, nor am I able to get out to the Internet. The repeater bridge router isn't able to get out to the internet either.

Both units are WHR-G300N. I tried builds 12615 and 12672, and both behave the same.

AP:
LAN MAC 00:1D:73:11:11:12
WAN MAC 00:1D:73:11:11:13
Wireless MAC 00:1D:73:D0:EF:58

Repeater Bridge:
LAN MAC 00:1D:73:11:11:12
WAN MAC 00:1D:73:11:11:13
Wireless MAC 00:1D:73:B9:D4:74

Could this be the reason why my repeater bridge isn't working? What if I change LAN and/or WAN MAC address?

I took a look at the AP:

Out of curiosity, I setup my WHR-G300N as a Repeater Bridge for my old WHR-G54S running Tomato as the AP. It worked like a charm.

For some reason or another, I can't get it to work if my AP was my other WHR-G300N.

I flashed mine by tftp according, exactly to the updated wiki instructions, including using 12672. My MAC address in sysinfo matches the one on my label and ends in 24.
