Hi all,

I am running a Linksys WRT54GS v3 router with DD-WRT v24-SP1 on it. I don't think the L7 filter to set torrent traffic to bulk is working. I currently have a QoS bandwidth limiting feature set per MAC, and then in the top, I have just 1 L7 enabled, and that is to set torrent to bulk. However, for some reason, when a torrent is being downloaded, and I then surf the web (http) or download a file (non torrent), it is unbearably slow. Also, I am by no means choking my u/l. I already have the global Uplink QoS amount set to 85% of actual u/l available by ISP. In fact, even inside of my torrent program, I limit the u/l amount so, it is not even close to it. I can't seem to figure out the problem. When I pull up the bandwidth monitor on DD-WRT, it should up and down is around 4-5 Mbps. My actual connection is 15/15 up/down, so as you can see, not even close. And, if torrent is closed, and you run speed test, I get at least 12/12 up/down always. Is it the L7's fault, or the routers load? I looked at the router load, and the first x.xx number up at the top was around 2.50. What can I do to still be able to use torrent, and surf / d/l other files (non-torrent) at the same time. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What is true? That it is too much load for the router to successfully do it?
