LOM has reopened ticket #1039 and requested adding device support.

Looking through the ticket, someone has said that the driver is already incorporated within dd-wrt to support the WRT160NL. Presumably that means there's some other barrier to supporting the WRT160Nv2, if the switch driver issue has already been addressed?

@dnewt: The person, who mentioned this, is Sash. In this thread he stated, that support would not be possible, because of the missing switch driver source. There is a working build in wrt160nl, which is based on a broadcom SoC.
So: The switch driver itself is working well.
The actual problem is, that someone would have to make a build with the switch patches for the rt288x/ramips plattform/architecture. If you know how to do that, any information on that topic would be welcome. There is a SDK from linksys bases on an adapted 2.4-series kernel. I have no glue how to adapt this for dd-wrt or openwrt. I've never done this before and I don't even have a serial cable for testing.
Another issue is the bootloader - I guess it will be replaced during flash... I don't have reliable information on that.

I've a WRT160N v2 with stock firmware. Anyone want me to test a particular firmware? I don't care about bricking it, but if I can put tomato or dd-wrt on it, I could make use of it.

I'll check back in a few days, then pick something.

I have a WRT160N v2 if anyone wants me to test any firmware. I also have a WRT120N that I'm willing to brick as well. Let me know.

I'm running linksys v2.0.03 and it keeps dropping the signal. I have several wireless devices in the house and they all lose their connection at the same time.
It appears that dd-wrt won't be able to support v2 and I'm hoping to find some sort of solution. I'm not asking for much, just to keep a connection for a few hours. Thanks!

I'd love to guinea pig my WRT110 for this cause. I grabbed a couple of them for a few dollars at the local thrift shop.

I would be perfectly fine if it had a single ethernet port working and the wireless working.. turn it into a plain wireless AP running dd-wrt.
