Obviously there are a few questions involved:
1. Where to get v24 SP2?
2. What is a serial flash? I need the procedures to flash it...
3. Is the support considered stable for daily use?

That is interesting....I though ralink chipsets were not supported.

SP2 path is in the Peacock Thread Sticky. Serial flash would be through the serial port in your computer to a set of serial pins in your router, if it has one. SP2 is quite stable, but where are you planning to pay for support?

Try the WIKI install page and see if there are instructions for your router.

Sorry I am a bit confused on the english- support I mean the level of reliability, as long as its going to run like v24 sp1 on my HP-G54/WRT54GL I would regard that as good enough.

I checked the supported device page but seems currently there is no instruction available.

And is sp2 a released version or its still source version which requires target binary compilation? Where is the Peacock Thread Sticky you talk about?

No. v24 SP2 is not finished

Here is an experimental build. It may brick your router!

I have no idea about flashing process for this router.

Dear all,

I think I had just bricked my WHR-G300N flashing it with the firmware here:

https://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/down.php?path=downloads%2Fothers%2Feko%2FBrainSlayer-V24-preSP2%2F061208%2FWHR-G300N/

Provided below the result that makes me believe I had successfully flashed it:

C:\Documents and Settings\JacobS\桌面>tftp -i 192.168.11.1 PUT WHR-G300N-webflash.bin
Transfer successful: 3686428 bytes in 38 seconds, 97011 bytes/s

I cant ping it neither 192.168.1.1 nor 192.168.11.1

Any help out?

Ok now that sounds interesting Razz webflash- would that mean can be flashed directly via the web interface without using serial cable? how about the firmware.bin? Wouldn't that be the right file to use tftp flashing process?

Coz I tried both with the web-ui with no luck....

And I don't have a second chance to go with the firmware.bin again....

I'm not sure, but I'm going to take it back to the shop and exchange for a new one, telling them it's out of order from the very first beginning

I have the feeling they refer to this procedure:

http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/LaFonera_Hardware_Serial-Cable-Port

Seems pretty simple and straightforward but for the moment I intend not to put my new WHR-G300N under the influence of my crappy hands:) No serial port on the back that's for sure anyway.

I know generally how it works. However we still need to know the exact pin layout to get the serial port connected
