I want to use my iPhone data connection on dd-wrt so dd-wrt would share its data link with all the devices on the network. In Canada it is legal tether with the data plan. Since it seems only legal in Canada, not much exists on how to push the envelope a bit.
I've been searching a bit on google, but I have honestly no clue how that's called so I'm posting here in hope of some help.
I have a little program on my iPhone called PDANet that reroute web requests from the WiFi connection to 3G. To use the program I create an ad-hoc network on my computer and connect my iPhone to it.
I tried creating a WiFi network without any internet acces on DD-WRT, then connecting my iPhone and my laptop to it. It doesn't work, my laptop doesn't have acces to the internet.
i couldn't get it to work i tried once following that page i kind of got it but there's just a lot of steps one most do to get it working. I'm not sure...
Wow, that tutorial has gone overboard. Client mode does not take long to set up.
All you do is set the router Local IP in different network than main. Then you switch to client mode and enter in SSID and security settings to match the primary access point. That's it. I don't have to write a 10 page article on it.
