Probably if your using the same pinouts from the wrt series routers you don't have the earth connected as pin 12 is not connected to earth - just use pin 10,8,6,4,2 instead.

Check your soldering pin header, make sure you didn't plug the header in backwards. Take some pictures of the soldering pinheader install that you did and post them here. Also take some some pictures of your jtag cable and post them here maybe something is wrong.

Scan or take pictures of the your routers motherboard, so we can see if you solder the correctly to the correct jtag port, I have heard that some N routers have more than one port so make sure you install the pinheaders to the correct port, without picures I don't see how we can help you.

@PIKETEAM,

The processor that tjtag is returning with probeonly is the radio jtag port not the cpu ? wrong jtag ?

Do as Tornado told you, you install the pinheader to the wrong port. Desolder the pinheader and install in the correct port on your router look for another 12 or 14 pin port on your router and use that.

4321... is radio chip - use other header next to the one you're using.
Pinout can be backward, like: 3=TCK, 5=TMS, 7=TDO, 9=TDI
What cpu is that? BCM4704 or BCM4705 ???

Looking at pic here http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26355&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=35

pinout is probably NOT backward. Anyway, try both ways- you can solder pins like this....
