I'm experimenting 100% load, as described here:
http://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=323442#323442
I have 2 dir300 running the same revision. One is working as router + ap and the other only as AP. Only the router/ap is suffering with this problem.
Regards.

Hi,
I've turned on the syslog and found a few unusual messages in revision 12504M.
These happened 5 minutes after system start (the clock wasn't set):
Code: Jan 1 00:05:30 DIR300 user.warn kernel: iptables: loop hook 0 pos 0 00000021.
Jan 1 00:05:30 DIR300 user.warn kernel: iptables: loop hook 0 pos 2568 00000021.
Jan 1 00:05:30 DIR300 user.warn kernel: iptables: loop hook 1 pos 0 00000022.
Jan 1 00:05:30 DIR300 user.warn kernel: iptables: loop hook 1 pos 0 00000022.
Jan 1 00:05:30 DIR300 user.warn kernel: iptables: loop hook 0 pos 0 00000021.
Jan 1 00:05:30 DIR300 user.warn kernel: iptables: loop hook 0 pos 2568 00000021.
After that, I have one upnp message every 2 minutes.
Code: Jan 1 00:06:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:08:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:10:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:12:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:14:01 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:16:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:18:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:20:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:22:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:24:00 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:26:01 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:28:01 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
Jan 1 00:30:01 DIR300 user.info syslog: upnp : upnp daemon successfully stopped
I have hundreds of these upnp messages.
Of course, the load average still 1.00.
Then I've tested the obvious: turn off the upnp. It worked. AFTER restart the router (turn off without restart doesn't lower the average), the load average is normal:
Code: 00:21:14 up 21 min, load average: 0.00, 0.01, 0.05
As as described in the other topic, the load average problem occurs with other versions too. At least with 07/01/09 and 07/15/09.
Regards.

for me it looks like a upnp client capable application is requesting useless port forwardings which are ending up in forwarding loops _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? I've exchange the router to a WRTSL54GS with the same build date (07/15/09).
No problems with the same computers and softwares. Not a single message from upnp.
This is odd :(

So, uPnP still a problem!!!
What aboult the TX errors problem? At least this bug was fixed?
With 08-03-09-r12601 I had the following after a few minuts runing:
Received (RX) 102078 OK, no error
Transmitted (TX) 81021 OK, 49634 errors
I still running with release from 29/04/09. The uPnP works, but MAC cloning not (the cloned computer can't access Internet or be accessed by others computers). I don't know if this clone problem was fixed with the newest versions. Anyway, if was fixed doesn't change anithing, since I do need uPnP.
Regards.

I also have the TX error problem. It was gone several releases ago, but it seems it came back.
Received (RX)
2684942 OK, no error
Transmitted (TX)
2091789 OK, 1335974 errors
I'm running 08-03-09, SVN revision 12615

That's correct, but the solution it's simple. For some reason,
shows nothing, so adding
Code: iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o ppp0 -j MASQUERADE
to firewall script, makes the trick. (yes, PPPOE connection)

Thanks! But downgrading was an easier solution I'll just wait for the next build

certainly, this is a bug, and it's easier for developers to fix if they know whats's wrong.
