No, I should have been more clear. These are the ones I have used on various routers.

I have been watching the other threads you have and know you know this so my bad. For v2 of the WRT160N, I have no idea as I have never used this one. As I mentioned, I read a thread where one of the delvelopers wanted an inside look at the chip on v2 so DD-WRT could be adapted for it (if possible).

Maybe contact a mod and see??

Yeah no problem - OpenWRT is supposed to work with it, so I may try that. And yes, I saw that thread where the dev wanted a shot of the inside, but I don't want to void my warranty *yet* Wink . Oh well. Maybe I'll just have to put up with the Linksys firmware. To give them credit, it seems to have a lot more features than v1 had.

Thanks for your graciousness Very Happy . I would like to hear how it works out with the other fimware though. My sister might be buying another router and of course I suggested the WRT160N but it looks like if she gets that one, it will be a v2.

"the other firmware" meaning the Linksys one? Or Openwrt?

Yeah I'm really liking the v2 Linksys firmware (which is surprising) - it seems like they borrowed lots of features from DD-WRT Wink . I think I might stick with it for a while - so far it's been pretty good. Hopefully, though, DD-WRT will eventually support this router, and then I'd definitely put it on.

The signal is very weak - and sometimes doesn't work at all - where with DD-WRT on the v1 it worked very well, so I'm going to go to Best Buy tomorrow and see if I can return it. If I can, I'll pick up a WRT310N off eBay or something.

Hi, I have a recently purchased WRT160N v2 that I'd be willing to crack open and take hi-res pictures of for developers. Should I post them here, or PM them to someone in particular?
