I attempted to load dd-wrt.v24_micro_generic onto my wrt310n. It said upgrade was sucessful, but did not give my computer an ip address after several minutes.
30/30/30 did not work
I followed the directions to unbrick a router (http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Recover_from_a_Bad_Flash#Recovering_with_TFTP) and "sucessfully" uploaded the defualt linksys firmware via ftp but the router never reboots itself and the power light continusly flashes. When i manually reboot it, it goes back to the same state it was in before (not working and not assigning IP address)
You weren't getting an IP address because the micro build does not have gigabit switch drivers. You should have loaded the mini build. Whoever told you to load the micro was wrong. You probably could have uploaded the mini build via wireless (though it is usually recommended that you don't).
However, now that you've reflashed Linksys's firmware, I'd try hard resetting again, and if that doesn't work, then maybe it didn't flash after the TFTP for some reason. If that's the case, see if any of your wireless clients can see it and connect. _________________ WRT54G v3 - v24 r14471M NEWD Eko - AP

I attempted to do a hard reset and to no avail the router still does not assign IP address / no web interface and only repsonds to pings when the unit is booting for the first few seconds :-/
Where can I get that tng build? I'm currently running DD-WRT v24 (05/24/0 std - build 9526 and from what I've read the tng works better for the gigabit switch and the wireless N

you can get the TNG build from the Download directory.
others/eko/v24 TNG/ then select your latest build... which is 10205 which has standard
Thanks! Another quick question though, do I have to load the mini in first and then the standard like I had to the first time I switched my 310N to dd wrt firmware?
You can just go direct to the TNG standard build since you are already on dd-wrt. I think the mini only applies when you first go from Linksys firmware to dd-wrt.
If I tftp flash any firmware for my 310N (linksys official, dd-wrt v24sp1, etc), I can continue to ping it but the web, telnet, ssl, ssh interface are all unavailable.
If I then unpower/repower it, I'm in the same state I was before 1-3 pings, and then nothing....I can tftp another firmware, but I end up in the same situation...pingable until reboot, nothing else
That was what happened to me when I first got my 310.
What I did was:
1. leave the router off for 10 minutes, unplugged from everything
2. booted it up, let it sit for a few minutes, then 30/30/30
3. TFTP Linksys image to it.
4. Waited 15 minutes after image was transfered.
5. Rebooted router.
All was working.
After that I went mini>standard through normal webGUI.
However, the reason I've just registered is to find out solutions to my issues which is that with a WMP300N on my desktop, Dell Wireless N on my laptop and my roommate's G4 Powerbook with Wireless G, everything fell apart, network access dropped to nothing, until I moved back to the Linksys firmware.
