We have all the BPS's that we requested

We will be working on CFE compression for these models as time permits....Stay Tuned.

Hi all.

We need your help. We NEED original vxworks from Linksys models

[EDIT] - The following model is all that is needed. If you have a V5 of the G model or know of someone who would let you get the virgin Linksys BSP (CFE) from the unit....please help us out.

To get the BSP from the unit...please use TJTAG and the -backup:bsp qualifier.

WRT54G V5 - received
WRT54G V6 - received

WRT54GS V5 - received.
WRT54GS V6 - received.

These MUST come from a unit that has NEVER had dd-wrt loaded on it.

A JTAG header will need to be installed and the Wholeflash should be extracted on the original vxworks unit....Please....NO dd-wrt upgraded units.

Please send any/all wholeflash.bin files in a Private message to Tornado directly...or to me and I'll see that he gets them.

We would like to make CFE compression and Micro Plus available for these units but we need this vital information first.

[EDIT] - I would be willing to extract this data if you would send me a unit. I will extract the necessary data and either update the unit to dd-wrt for you....or return it without any alterations. (other than the JTAG header and a broken Security sticker) - PM me if this is of interest...I am located in the USA.

Additional info regarding the Micro Plus project.

Argh... I realize it's too late now!

Man just 1 week ago I bought a WRT54GS V6 off a friend, and flashed it to dd-wrt. If I'd seen this post I'd have happily sent it off.

Yeah...I imagine this happens a lot...people buy a router...flash it...then check the forum.

Too bad...I am trying to get this thread setup as a Sticky but even that might not help.

WRT54GS v6 sent last night to Eko accidentally, but it will be forwarded to Tornado. Removing the filled solder holes and soldering the jtag header to the ground pins were a pain, solder just wouldn't melt, but luckily you only need one ground.

Thank you....appreciated.

Hints:
To remove solder from the filled holes, touch fresh solder to them first....then put your solder wick on and very lightly touch with fresh solder while applying heat. The solder rosin will help the flow of the fresh solder wick up better this way.

Thanks for the tip redhawk, it seems kinda odd to be adding more solder when you are trying to remove solder.

Anyway I just sent WRT54G v6 to Tornado, this one had unfilled jtag holes and the soldering was much easier.

I don't know if this will help but I just created two CFE.BIN files for two V5s using SkyNet software ($FREE.99). It prompts for the version and for your MAC address then creates the CFE bin.
