It is taking over 30 minutes to download an image. _________________ Custom computer w/ i7-13700T, 16GB DDR5 Ram, X710-T4L, i226 four port, two RLTK 8127 cards & dual AQC113 M2 slot card. Currently running OpenWRT and Adguard.
2 GL.iNET GL-BE9300 Flint 3 with (GLiNet Custom OpenWRT) as AP's (WIFI 7 for the whole home now)
GL.iNET GL-MT6000 Flint 2 with pure OpenWRT not in use
GL INET GL-BE3600 Slate 7 Travel Router as a travel router
2 R7800's (DDWRT Build r60586) Not in use
3 R7000's (DDWRT build r65574) one used as a bridge
WRT54G-TM not in use
This resulted always in unresponding webinterface and browser (tested firefox and chromium) losing connection in an instant.
According to /var/log/messages always this happens:
Code:
May 21 12:12:00.296 N4000 user.info : [httpd] : maybe died, we need to re-exec it
May 21 12:12:00.320 N4000 daemon.info httpd[31855]: [httpd] : httpd server started at port 80
Since I have a complete backup of the device, I decided to give a try for those fancy new 2GB big "ext4" files:
What am I doing wrong? Or is a new install via dd neded?
Or do I have to start the update via CLI this time?
Since I never made an update via CLI before, am I right to assume I'd have to download "the file" WHICH ONE into /tmp and write it to a partition (Again which one)?

these new files will only work if already a new fw is installed. a older firmware will not accept this. its shit i know but i had to go this way. so backup your config and do a raw image install. future upgrades hopefully will just went fine. if you do a raw update the config will also remain since its stored in a unaccessible place at the end of the drive. so using dd or physdiskwrite will work fine _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? I am in Southeast Texas USA. I have over a 1 gig connection. _________________ Custom computer w/ i7-13700T, 16GB DDR5 Ram, X710-T4L, i226 four port, two RLTK 8127 cards & dual AQC113 M2 slot card. Currently running OpenWRT and Adguard.

Router/Version: see sig
File/Kernel: Full VGA EXT4 EFI
Previous/Reset: Clean install
Mode/Status: Router
Issues/Errors: Nothing major after a few minutes
I was able to get Adguard up an running. In the "Networking" tab, unused ports show up with error 1, but work normally when connected. I am hoping the upgrade works next time there is an update using the Full VGA EXT4 EFI upgrade file. Ethtool via Entware still gives a segmentation fault.
I had reinstalled my QCNCM865 "Fast connect 7800" hoping it would work now that BrainSlayer has the Ath12K drivers but alas, no wifi tab. _________________ Custom computer w/ i7-13700T, 16GB DDR5 Ram, X710-T4L, i226 four port, two RLTK 8127 cards & dual AQC113 M2 slot card. entware is external. i dont know how these programs are compiled and which libc is in use. i can integrate ethtool of course on my side.
will be available in next release _________________ "So you tried to use the computer and it started smoking? Sounds like a Mac to me.." - Louis Rossmann https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eL_5YDRWqGE&t=60s
Thank you BrainSlayer! You are the man! There are a few others that will be very happy to have Ethtool added to the builds! _________________ Custom computer w/ i7-13700T, 16GB DDR5 Ram, X710-T4L, i226 four port, two RLTK 8127 cards & dual AQC113 M2 slot card. Currently running OpenWRT and Adguard.

Router/Version: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. PRO B550M-VC WIFI (MS-7C95) w/AMD Ryzen 5 / DD-WRT v3.0-r65079 std (05/20/26)
File/Kernel: Linux 6.12.90 #1086 SMP Wed May 20 15:35:21 +06 2026 x86_64
Previous/Reset: Fresh install
Mode/Status: Gateway / up 1 day, 8:52
Issues/Errors: QoS seems not working (service priority packets count never updated); Queuing Discipline option no longer available
I flashed my SSD with the full_efi_vga_ext4 image. Happy to report that it resolved my constant "AMD-Vi: Completion-Wait Loop timed out" console message issue (see my post https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=341365).
I was able to use GParted to resize partition 2 with no issue. System boots up normal and df command now shows /dev/root to be 6155876K mounted on "/" while /dev/sda3 remain at 117203K and mounted on /usr/local and /jffs. Not sure what I did will affect the next upgrade or not. I guess I will find out soon after the next release is ready.

Yeah, please
Very good news for including ethtool.
Fidling with entware only for this is just a Pain in the butt.
Those i226v have abysmal ipv6 throughput if not rx-gro-list set to disabled.
