Hello,

I am having an issue with x86_64 builds after 01-01-2026

When running certain binaries from Entware, like unzip, ethtool or joe I get a segfault.

The error message is like this:

# unzip
[    41.867908] unzip[4734]: segfault at 0 ip 00007fe5d2be0d28 sp 00007ffea22abaf0 error 4 in libc.so[27d28,7fe5d2bad000+55000] likely on CPU 0

Segmentation fault

Some binaries from Entware run just fine but with others I get the segmentation fault

It doesn't happen with 12-19-2025-r61711, it appears on 01-01-2026-r63230 and it's still there as of build 04-14-2026

Any ideas on how to fix this will be appreciated

Thank you!

@jab same here.

I mentioned it a few times in my reports, since without ethtool and adjusting a setting my ipv6 througput is abysmal.

Still if possible I'd prefer to get ethtool included in x86_64 builds.
Tinkering with Entware just does not feel right to me.
I decided to ditch it a few releases ago when a new build did not work and borked my router. Reflashed everything and spared entware for good.
Ipv6 throughput isnt that important to me and the issue should resolve itself with a newer kernel.

I can confirm I am having the same issue with Ethtool via Entware.

I second what Zyxx said when requesting Ethtool be added to the X86-64 version of DDWRT. Since all X86 equipment has mix and match network cards, having Ethtool is very helpful.

Brainslayer has added Ethtool to the X86 builds. It will be available in the next build whenever it comes out! Thank you @brainslayer.

Entware works fine...i also second the link KP-69 shared...as recently there ware some changes to Entware and thus corrupted its work...it is fixable with adding a start up command...see the KP-69 linked thread...

Also Entware is synchronized with OpenWRT and very often it uses old binaries, until they get an update, so using stuff from DDWRT side its likely to get an update sooner..

Entware is working just fine for me running Adguard. Since it will be in the next published BS build there is no need to try to get Ethtool working via Entware. I know there are a ton of things that can be done with Entware however I only have Adguard for now and had tried Ethtool and found it didn't work. I have used Ethtool in x86 OpenWRT in the past.
