List router model & version or revision, operating & wireless modes & exact filename/firmware image flashed.
CLI Flash: 'cd /tmp' then 'wget {file URL}' (httponly) or 'curl -O {file URL}' (http, https, ftp) 'write {file} linux' then 'reboot'.
Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
• Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!
Important:
• Detail issues & relevant configs, logs: syslog klog 'dmesg' 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages' nvram set console_debug=1, serial.
• Firewall NAT: 'iptables -vnL' 'iptables -t nat -vnL' 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' & 'cat /tmp/.ipt'. Debug Analyze: stracetcpdump.
• Gremlins: reboot. cold boot. Reset & reconfigure not restore backup. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, SB, WDS, Mesh) and applicable configurations to reproduce.

Hard failure with a Netgear R7450. It's running as an AP with manual address. Pretty simple config except I have USB storage configured on it.
1 ) Did the thing that I wasn't expecting to work, and it didn't. Straight upgrade to 64453 from the 63020 I'm currently at, without resetting to factory defaults. Bootloop. Orange power light comes on, then the port light(s), then 5 seconds later it crashes and restarts.
2 ) Power off, hold the reset button down, and power on, wait 5-7 seconds for the orange power light to start blinking. Doesn't reboot on its own. Repower. Still bootlooping.
3 ) Use the nmrpflash process(PS: thank God for nmrpflash!) to apply the Netgear factory flash to it.
ONE NOTE on this: The docs say to repower the router after nmrpflash finishes. THIS DID NOT WORK FOR ME. What I noticed is that the router is still working at flashing the image even after nmrpflash exits. I noticed that there is a white light next to the orange power light that stays on while it's working, and about 30-60 seconds after nmrpflash exited, that light starts blinking. I learned to wait and not repower the router until that white light started blinking.
You always have to do a hard reset after flashing the factory image, plus one or two reboots, etc, etc.
4 ) Will not belabor the -very obnoxious- setup for the Netgear factory image.
5 ) Used the factory-to-ddwrt image to upgrade/migrate to r63020. Obviously had to do a reset. Configured admin and password, but otherwise didn't do anything else with it, configuration-wise.
6 ) Used the webui to upgrade to r64453, but used the factory reset this time. Upgrade appeared to finish successfully.
7 ) The same bootloop.
8 ) power off, hold the reset button down, power on. Bootloop.
9 ) I give up, and repeat steps 1-5, but stay at 63020, and apply my last backup config for it. It's back up and working fine with r63020.
Is there, perhaps, a final dd-wrt image(more recent than 63020) that uses kernel 4 that I/we need to upgrade to, prior to upgrading to a kernel 6 dd-wrt image? Some intermediate process necessary to make a kernel v6 image work?
What more can I do? I don't have access to a serial console or debugging output from it, and with it bootlooping I had no ssh or telnet access to look at logs.

I will have to try to set aside time to set my WNDR3700v5 up as requested by the developer to see if I can glean anything, since it is part of the group of devices that was upgraded to the 6.x kernel.
EDIT: BrainSlayer tested with his R6800 and found a kernel crash and this should be fixed in the next release.
