I post this here because searching "GRUB" returned posts from this forum.

During my experimenting with VLAN, Unbridged port, and network isolation; I ran into a situation where the GRUB menu changed from "DD-WRT" to "Default". I am not 100% how I got there but most likely a configuration mis-step via the GUI. The most noticeble ill effect is I no longer able to soft reboot the system. Sometime I lost web GUI access as well. Restore to Factory default from GUI and "NVRAM Clear" from console won't help because they boh require soft reboot. Power cycling didn't help either. The only way was reflash the system fresh. If I have a backup perior to the problem, I can restore. Otherwise, I have to reconfigure everything.

Did any of you encoutered this? Is there a better way to get out of this situation?

I experience this again - Grub menu changed from "DD-WRT" to "Default".
Beside no soft reboot from console and GUI, I can't upgrade the system since it also requires a soft reboot!
Stuck in the same release forever or reflash? To me, both are not the right solution since the probability is quite high.

Did any of you encountered this?
Anyone know how to correct the problem without reflash?
Could this be a bug?

Advise, please.

Not 100% sure, I think I will end up in the booting to "Default" situation if I did something out of sequence in Networking.

I also noticed when the Grub menu is displaying, I can hit "e" to edit the menu item.
Would this be the way to get it to boot "DD-WRT" by editing it?
But I have no clue how to edit and save it. Tips, anyone?

And please, if reflash is the only way, let me know too.
