I figure i was going to start having a problem.
first all the apple iPhone's and iPad's the family was using 5g, would not connect to 5g from my router. The they were switch from 5g to 2.4g worked ever since.
Today my laptop, witch was using 5g from my router has stopped after a power outage, it doesn't list my 5g wifi only 2.4g is showing up and does connect and work.
Did apple updates do this or my os do this with updates. Is there an update for my router i need to install? or is it the router it's self? sorry the date in the link below was the last time i worked on my router.
thank you in advance for any direction or advice !

Moved to Atheros, Archer C7 series. There have been many releases since 2024:

https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/

New Build - 01/14/2026 - r63355 (Atheros) - Next to last report on same model
New Build - 01/22/2026 - r63461 (Atheros) - Last report on same model

That's your only spoon from me. No screenshots of settings or other required information for troubleshooting, so we don't know how to help you.

thank you kernel-panic69

is there a stable bin, i don't think the family will go for experimental lol.
also i noticed there are two mac's showing up and no hostnames, mac's are not showing up
in a mac look up or chat gpt. so i'm concerned about this, going to block those mac's.

so we are looking at buying another router, what is the best supported dd-wrt and strongest ?
tp-link archer-c7 v2 does a good job but it is getting dated and well used.
at times 20 to 25 devices are connected ipads, iphones, Roku's, Samsung tv work computers .......etcs. one thing i forgot to mention i have my router with dd-wrt set to only give out
ip4 addressing.

just as soon as this storm gets past and things get back to normal i will get back to this.

Only you will be able to figure out if it is stable for your router and your settings. Or not.

So far with my MR7350, most of the builds have worked fine. Probably >90% of the ones I have tried, but - different router, different settins.
