Issues, observations, and/or workarounds reported:
• WebUI: Clear history or use a portable. Temporary cache bypass: Ctrl+F5, Cmd+Shift+R or new private window/incognito.
• Please report findings with steps needed to reproduce, configuration, clients, output, logs and important information below!

Important:
• Detail issues & relevant configs, logs: syslog klog 'dmesg' 'cat /tmp/var/log/messages' nvram set console_debug=1, serial.
• Firewall NAT: 'iptables -vnL' 'iptables -t nat -vnL' 'iptables -t mangle -vnL' & 'cat /tmp/.ipt'. Debug Analyze: strace tcpdump.
• Gremlins: reboot. cold boot. Reset & reconfigure not restore backup. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, SB, WDS, Mesh) and applicable configurations to reproduce.

Upgraded from Firmware by egc: DD-WRT v3.0-r62890M Community Build (12/01/25) using patched build so GUI update is working without a problem for this Xvortex CFE upgrade 😃

Reset: No not this time.

Configuration: Default gateway mode, 2,4GHz wireless running with unbridged VAP, 5GHz running, some static leases and some port range forwarding.
Four WireGuard tunnels running, one Server, one site-to-site and two clients in Fail-over group to Mullvad (of course with PBR to allow the WG server to use the WAN), using MAC address and IPv4 and IPv6 IPSET.
DDNS (dynv6) working.
IPv6 working.
CTF&FA Enabled
NVRAM size 46KB (NVRAM size should not be a problem with the Xvortex CFE)

Status: Up and stable for 2 hours

Errors: none so far

As always, the Quantenna chip has its own quirks. This is a closed source chipset
There is no way to install a channel.
But you can disable 5.0 GHz. @mpgalaxy hack "If you set the radio mode to station bridge and disable the network mode, the 5GHz device will turn off completely even after reboot."

If your router's light turns red, don't worry. Internet connection is ok.

3 R6400 v1's here. I installed this version the other day (guessed based on reading various "new build" threads this one might be the safest recent choice, as I generally go several years between installs). I'm finding that on my WAN connected router if I click "apply" on the wireless settings, the device will stop communicating entirely - can't connect to the web interface and no connected devices can connect to the internet (wired or wireless).

Is this an issue that's been known to happen anytime lately? Any ideas here? Out of desperation I may try another build but as alluded to above, I hate going through the process of setting it back up (especially for my WAN connected router) so I don't love the idea of randomly choosing another build and just hoping it won't have the problem (or some other problem!).

FWIW I have a vpn server and vpn client (which uses policy based routing), in case that's a factor. I also have a virtual interface on my 5ghz radios.

Any time you click "Apply" (now "Save & Apply"), processes restart, including networking. And there are several reasons why you should be more frequent and current, but it's your network, your routers.

I'm not talking about the normal momentary interruption. I'm saying everything stops until I power cycle (I've waited for 5-10 minutes).

I don't upgrade more frequently because it's far from trivial to do so.
