Last 6 months not been able to connect to wifi using TV or PC but andriod phone is ok. Regular drop outs, wifi only, every approx 5 minutes for 30-1 minute. I got by using my phone as a hotspot for the TV but Im over this and want it sorted.
I have tried basic testing inc. Setting up channels as opposed to auto, rebooting, reset back to factory defaults (clearing all vpn data), and changing security protocols.
I have have success in turning off the wifi security, no drop outs everything connects as it should however security is required clearly.
Firmware version:Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r44715 std (11/03/20)
Everything is factory setting atm, it will cause drop outs on any security setting inc. WPA2 personal.
I'd save the configuration and go for a release newer than your five year old version.
Keep in mind:
Marvell (the WiFi Chipset manufacturer of your device) sold its wireless connectivity assets to NXP almost 6 or 7 years ago. Effectivly putting a hold on all open source projects for them.
And even before they didn't do great with providing any "good" software.
NXP themselve can't be arsed to help with anything.
Opensource projects still work hard to keep your device running, but dont await any miracles or new fancy features for anything wireless on your device.

Moved to Marvell. Keep in mind that in more current releases, the wifi interfaces are named wlanX instead of athX, and that more recent Linux 6.1.x releases are using DSA and that SFE is problematic at best.
