DNSMasq adblocking Via egc script
I've noticed for some time that the small.oisd.nl/dnsmasq2 fails with ERROR?
Any ideas as to why this is happening?
I am able to download from the url
Code:
adblock: ERROR: small.oisd.nl/dnsmasq2
What other lists are you guys using?
currently using: raw.githubusercontent.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists/main/dnsmasq/pro.txt
Added: I've downloaded the small.oisd.nl/dnsmasq2 list and hosted it locally on a server to test it, its seems to run fine locally, but seems to have 1 rouge element
Code:
adblock: Rogue element: line 222526: local=/zzzmjfixezere.site/local=/eualarm.hik-online.com/ identified in new blocklist
adblock: Removing offending line: 222526: local=/zzzmjfixezere.site/local=/eualarm.hik-online.com/
sed: unsupported command z
dnsmasq: syntax check OK
would this rogue element stop it downloading normally?
MYBLACKLIST=' eualarm.hik-online.com is 1st line
u.mokexapp.co is on 2nd line
After removing what I thought were the rouge elements from above in my locally hosted test list, which was in fact the bottom url in the list, and the top 1 in MYBLACKLIST it's now showing the last one again as a rogue element and the top u.mokexapp.co very confused?
Code:
adblock: Rogue element: line 47184: local=/zzzjhkyprpsvl.store/local=/u.mokexapp.co/ identified in new blocklist
adblock: Removing offending line: 47184: local=/zzzjhkyprpsvl.store/local=/u.mokexapp.co/
sed: unsupported command z
dnsmasq: syntax check OK
** Please note line numbers are different because I removed the raw.githubusercontent.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists/main/dnsmasq/pro.txt _________________ Main Router: Dynalink WRX36, PPPoE, Gateway Mode, Network IPV4 - Isolated Vlan's. Given up with oisd, it keeps giving some sort of rouge element error, back to hagezi for now, hopefully someone can say what's going on with it? _________________ Main Router: Dynalink WRX36, PPPoE, Gateway Mode, Network IPV4 - Isolated Vlan's. i used those, never had issues, now i use my own 'kind of'...as sometimes those from internet, interfere with some stuff and its not easy to find what to exclude...where in dnscrypt it has its own log to check...as far as i also remember, even dnsmasq has its own limits and there ware moments where it will ignore some of the list entries.. dlded from some domains...
with DNScrypt-proxv2 i use some of the stuff from here and my own list...

Thanks for your reply's
The oisd GitHub address for anyone wanting to look:-

@Alozaros, thanks buddy, but those look like a different format to dnsmasq2, are they for smartdns adblocking? I've never used smartdns for adblocking because I use smartdns for my dns I thought dnsmasq would be better suited, not sure if that's a correct assumption or not.
my dnsmasq lists start like: local=/domain.com/
Yes, I have also hosted locally in the past when I've found an issue, until online list is fixed, easy way to edit to how you want.
Currently using the https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hagezi/dns-blocklists/refs/heads/main/dnsmasq/ultimate.txt without any issues.
just odd how oisd stopped working a while ago, just assumed other forum users would have come across this issue.
I assume KP is correct that the issue is some parse issue. _________________ Main Router: Dynalink WRX36, PPPoE, Gateway Mode, Network IPV4 - Isolated Vlan's. hmm in my case dnsmasq list is using a different format ...that has been incorporated in most of all the Adblock scripts i have around...
0.0.0.0 010sec.com
0.0.0.0 01mspmd5yalky8.com
i believe, it should be working with both formats unless something changed and i missed it... _________________ Atheros

Alozaros, OISD stopped supporting that format I believe 1 January 2024. There's an announcement on their site.
I'm in the same boat as you. I dropped oisd due to the change and am still using that old format using other lists. I need to update to the dnsmasq2 formatted oisd list using the conf-file dnsmasq directive to point to the file. _________________ On 61465: 3x Dynalink DL-WRX36, Linksys MX4200v2, 2x MR7350.
