I love the Linksys 3200acm with dd-WRT firmware.
My 3200acm at home, with only 300Mb internet speed / access, will typically come in close to 300Mb up and down speed on my cell phone, or over 300 with a hardwire test (fiber into the house).
My son is moving into a house with 1Gb "fiber" internet speed.
If I set him up with a 3200acm w/dd-wrt, what speeds should I expect to see? Can the 3200 handle 1Gb speed wireless and hard wire?
I have 2.5GBPS down and 300Mbps up on my plan with my ISP. But in reality, I get about 950Mbps down and 357Mbps up.
However, I'm not sure what's going on, but I can never get 357Mbps upload when I have 2 or more LAN systems uploading, whether I have QoS on or off. The only way I can do it is
1. Single PC speed test
2. PC + Mobile device.
I have 3 computers connected via ethernet which I prefer, but I cannot for the life of me stream to youtube at 51Mbps (max quality) while doing normal torrenting on my server. It maxes out around 160Mbps according to ddwrt bandwidth monitor. My youtube stream, per OBS, goes into the red (unreliable upstream) until I stop torrents on the other PC entirely. I'm tempted to make a youtube video to show it because it's really frustrating, and weird. There's something bottlenecking it and I have NO idea at all what it could be.
I stop the torrents on my server PC and suddenly I can stream to youtube at 51Mbps. It makes NO SENSE TO ME AT ALL. Why does my torrent traffic on a PC in the living room affect my youtube upstream in my room on an entirely different PC when my bandwidth is coming no where near my limits?

Currently, there are very few DD-WRT supported routers that can sustain 1Gbit WAN speeds...also those speeds are very very client/settings capabilities dependent...same for the LAN traffic...
For more than 1Gbit WAN speeds you may need better hardware...and even thou...lots of luck.. _________________ Atheros
