I connected to my router and noticed the load average was 1.00 when usually it's 0.0x. I had just upgraded from r62036 to r62240 so I assume this is a new issue from a later version.

I couldn't find any way to figure this out from the web UI, nothing relevant in syslog, so I enabled telnet. I connected to the router and used top, and found ksoftirqd/0 is eating up all that CPU usage.

I tried looking this up and found nothing relevant.

I tried using kill -9 11 (PID of ksoftirqd/0) and killall ksoftirqd/0 and the commands just do nothing. I can't kill the process.

So I restarted the router and that appears to have fixed it for now. Not sure what caused it, but it was up for only a little over a day, so I assume it will happen again pretty soon.

Will report back here the next time something happens.
