Upgrade from 62104 to 62170; bricked my DIR-615H1 totally; no chance to get it back alive.

What method did you use to upgrade? Is emergency room not working?

Upgraded via LAN router's INet-site 'Administration' - 'Firmware Upgrade' w/o reset. Emergency room (pressing reset button during power-on) doesn't work.

I'm willing to bet that it's a timing issue. But without serial console output, there is no telling what is broken with this release for that device. Also, the worst case is that you can probably recover via serial, if I am not mistaken.

Got it back alive, but don't know how and why!
For standard FW upgrade I use Debian (actual Trixie) and Firefox; normally it works.
For 'cases of emergency' (emergency room) right now I had better experience with older Winwows or Debian releases.
So I tried Win7, Debian Buster, Firefox and Norton Commander in every possible combination. For hours w/o any success.
Suddenly I was able via emergency room to install D-Link-FW, DD-WRT-factory (Win7, NC) and after older DD-WRT (Buster, FF), actual DD-WRT (Trixie, FF). Don't know why it didn't work for hours and why it suddenly worked. Anyway, back alive.

Emergency Room requires OLD version of FF or Internet Explorer to work, usually. Somewhere around here, there's a method to use curl to send the firmware image to the router via Emergency Room, but I do not have the link handy. Glad to hear you got it resolved Smile
