I think this old stanky code has been in my 1900ACSv2 for so long it's like baked into the chips by now. It's been stable as hell though, I gotta hand it to you gurus! ...but time for some new adventures now and I can't leave! She won't let me...
I tried flashing the latest openwrt-24.10.3-mvebu-cortexa9-linksys_wrt1900acs-squashfs-factory.img as well as latest stock FW_WRT1900ACSV2_2.0.3.201002_prod.img but neither seems to be taking, even after waiting several minutes. Can't even ping the router after it reboots. I've had to use the quick on/off x3 to boot it back to DD-WRT v3.0-r30796 waiting to be setup with user/pass. What's the best/safest way to get OpenWrt on it? _________________ Current

Thank you bro!!1 That was the trick! Well, I couldn't find older Linksys firmware, but instead found there were issues with older versions, such as with 2.0.1.177097 [Failing to revert WRT1900ACSv2 to stock oem firmware.]
From there, I was able to flash the stock Linksys 2.0.3.201002 firmware, which also went without a hitch! Then reset the router and made my way to the manual firmware upgrade and fed it the openwrt...factory.img. It loved it! 😋
Yeah, in addition to using Firefox and a new private window after each reboot, I would note that HTTPS-Only mode interfered as well. Interrupting firmware image transfers, affecting browser re-connection after reboots, and so on. After adding a "Turn Off" exception for http://192.168.1.1, interactions with the router at all stages were restored to 100% functionality! 😁 Obviously, make sure to remove the exception when done with the maintenance, if https is enabled in the firmware settings.
