The GL.iNet GL-MT6000 (Flint 2) would be a good DD-WRT candidate, too.
It is supported by Openwrt and has gained some popularity this year.

The GL.iNet GL-MT6000 (Flint 2) is (yet another) currently unsupported MediaTek SoC that will probably not see support if nobody donates the hardware.

Mediatek socs are not the hardware of choice due to very bad wifi firmware , the wifi part tend to crash after several background scans for no reason and doesnt come back up.

this is possible to reproduce with ac and ax mediatek devices

since the firmware is a binary blob from mediatek there is no fix in sight ...

that why keep on looking for qualcomm SOC devices , there are plenty

DD-WRT uses MT76, not OEM driver source code. Only binary blobs are the firmware binaries. Unless there is something hidden from view:

they arent exactly easy to find everywhere (canada is an example) and those one can find, are expensive as shit (mpcie anyway).

It doesn't matter. There is no interest in MediaTek AX devices at present due to the ongoing issues with the radio chipset firmware blobs. As already stated in two places, procure one and send it to the developer.

Repeated hammering on your query via cross-posting is not going to make anything happen any quicker. I have received NO confirmation from the shop or Sebastian that this device has been donated. The focus is on Qualcomm because MediaTek is still problematic, even with OpenWRT and Tomato64, and nobody has donated hardware to date.

Go ahead and let your clicker do the clicking and send one yourself.
It's fairly obvious that nobody's interested in adding support yet.

Hello all,

@kernel-panic69 From what I understand, the router must be on its way, a donation from GL-iNET! Cool Very Happy

Good luck and we look forward to the implementation of ddwrt!

There's already a crowdfunding thread. Maybe take a look around before you "get an idea"... or ask redundant questions.

Sticky: Crowdfunding to purchase routers for donation

https://forum.gl-inet.com/t/donating-gl-mt6000-for-getting-dd-wrt/38056/14

I guess we'll see how long it takes to get the device into BrainSlayer's hands and he finds the mood to port it.

EDIT 06.03.25: I presume these commits are related.
