I would like to flash to an older version of DD-WRT. Is that ok to do from the web interface? Any special steps?

I have done it many times without any issue.

Best practice would be reset to defaults via GUI or CLI or use the button after flashing. NO 30-30-30.

Then restore your bakup for that version if you still have it.

I also have done it several times. It has failed once or twice but resetting it before flashing has tended to then work fine and then reset again before restoring a backup or redoing settings

...assuming its now way off in settings, I have also gotten away with just flashing backwards a couple times too. It most likely depends on what was changed in the releases but in many years only didnt work a couple times total
