Hello,

I'd like to install a mesh system.
Is DD-WRT support mesh system devices and features?

Currently I've 3 Linksys EA8500 routers, running DD-WRT.
Can I build a mesh system with them?

I'm trying TP-LINK Deco X20 routers.
Wireless speed is not bad.
But I don't think Deco X20 supported by DD-WRT.

Could you recommend to me a mesh system model supported by DD-WRT (preferably TP-LINK)?

Thank you very much for your help Smile
Chris

Hi, I'm just curious what search terms you used to find the answer to your question?

I am using one EA8500 as a 802.11s end point and it works very well. When I say "endpoint" it's because the 5ghz is the MESH radio, and only radio, so the MESH is not really shared. Instead it uses the switch ports for VLANs on my home entertainment rack.

802.11s is hit or miss. It works great for some, not so great for others. It works good enough for my needs.

If you are looking for a true MESH with access points, then you would want tri-band routers (5ghz+5ghz+2.4ghz) to hopefully get the best speed. Most of the newly supported AX routers fit into this category. There is a sticky for 802.11s in the Advanced Networking section and you can search for AX routers supported. There is a thread on it.
