I’m trying to connect a Xiaomi security camera (via Mi Home app) to a Samba share on a DD-WRT router with a USB drive attached. The goal is to have the camera save recordings directly to the USB.
The share is working fine — other devices on the LAN (Windows) can access with no issues.
However, the Xiaomi Mi Home app cannot detect the share at all, and unfortunately, it doesn’t allow manual input of an IP address or path — only automatic network discovery.
I’ve tested all protocol versions in the dd-wrt nas (NT 1.0, SMB 1.0, SMB 2.0, SMB 3.11), none of them work. Based on other reports, the camera likely supports SMB1 only.
My suspicion is that the issue may be related to SMB discovery/broadcast (NetBIOS or similar) — perhaps the DD-WRT environment isn’t properly advertising the share on the network, and that’s why the Xiaomi device doesn’t see it.
Has anyone experienced something similar, or managed to get a Xiaomi camera to work with a Samba share hosted on DD-WRT?
Any tips on how to make the share discoverable for such devices would be greatly appreciated!
I have two Xiaomi cameras: Mi Home Security Camera 360° 1080p and Mi Home Security Camera 360° 2K (model numbers like MJSXJ02CM and MJSXJ09CM). These models are not supported by Thingino.

Frigate is not a Firmware you Flash on the Cameras. It's a Video Recorder Software that runs on a Server. Do you have a Home Server running Home Assistant or something?
