The Pale Moon status bar on the DD-WRT forum pages keeps flashing names of sites that are blocked by my PiHole (it gets 0.0.0.0). The status bar should stop at 'Done', but it goes on and on.
It doesn't go crazy on other sites.
Looking at the PiHole GUI, I would say the browser doesn't go on actually fetching the addresses, though.
EDIT: Actually the DD-WRT forum software does seem to keep fetching the blocked addresses, the blocking rate on the PiHole went up a lot compared to previous values (nothing changed here) and the time stamps on the blocked sites in the PiHole GUI are very recent, even though I haven't been at the computer for a while because of breakfast ...

Not sure how this is related to DDWRT..I dont use Pale-moon browser for anything else but only GUI and its fine...I also dont know your compliance Pihole and ect.. not sure what is your goal..too..
if something is blocked by Pihole the only way to go around other DNS is via DoH..unless you run something to interfere with it..not likely...
Did you check your browser DNS settings? _________________ Atheros

Thanks for your comments, @Alozaros.
The browser only does what I described - go 'crazy' on blocked sites - on the DD-WRT forum page. AFAIK it didn't do this before, so my conclusion is that something is the matter with the forum code.
The sites blocked on the DD_WRT forum site are sites like:
c.amazon-adsystem.com
cadmus.script.ac
bootloader.com
googletagmanager.com
and perhaps more. The names flash by on the status bar, if I don't disable it. It should stop with 'Done'.
cadmus.script.ac is blocked by virtue of the default PiHole blocking list:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/StevenBlack/hosts/master/hosts
I didn't check what list the others are blocked by. The blocking doesn't break the forum, which I would prefer above the site going at it so vigorously without contending it is just not going to reach the sites above and quiet down, or else break the site. After all the blocked sites could just be off-line, too.
It's the fact that the blocking doesn't cause problems with other sites than the DD-WRT forum, which made me post about this. Possibly the maintainer of the DD-WRT forum cannot change anything which results in this behaviour, I don't know. The only thing I'm pretty sure about is that forums like these are made with ready made software. I am from the Bulletin Board System on a 300 bps audio modem and packet switched radio era ;-(
I dont use piehole but I use PM
I dont see any unusual status text on the forum.
the status will show links and such temporarily if I hover my mouse over them but thats it.
I dont see any of the sites you mentioned being requested either.
