I had to reload the page 3 times but eventually it came up. Seems to be under heavy load. _________________ Formerly dpp3530 Linksys MR7350

Mode/Status: Gateway (NSS-ECM), Access Point (5GHZ-HT20 AX/AC/N mixed, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r/v/k, guest network, domain:UNITED STATES), performance governor, IPV6 (DHCP6 w/ prefix delegation), Entware, DOT via SmartDNS/DNSMasq, OpenVPN server, Wireguard Server + 2 Wired access points (2.4GHz-HT20 N/G Mixed, 5GHZ-HT80 AX/AC/N mixed, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r/v/k, guest network, domain:UNITED STATES)
Issues/Errors:
Up 1 hour. USB 3.2 stick working properly for Entware and "jffs" partitions. Speed, wired and wifi, is very close to published, which is equal or favorable to the ISP router - tested via nPerf.com. Wireguard and OpenVPN servers both working as expected and throughput sufficient to open video files on network shares. 5GHz showing 26dBm (set to 30dBm). 2.4GHz showing 28dBm (also set to 30dBm).
Same weirdness in the Networking tab, where the MAC address of br1 is a random single ASCII character. Other than that, all is working well.
Thank you Brainslayer. _________________ Formerly dpp3530 Linksys MR7350

This release has a new addition on the Setup/Basic Setup tab under Network Setup called "Try DHCP on LAN". On routers this is Disabled by default, but on newly supported Managed Switches, it is Enabled by default.
If a network dhcp server is present and found, the Managed Switch will use it, otherwise it will use the assigned IP address (ie. 192.168.1.1). Also, when enabled, it should disable the DHCP server automatically.
This may be useful for some when using routers as WAPs and/or Samba/NAS servers. _________________ - Linksys EA8500: I-Gateway, WAP/VAP 5ghz only. Features: VLANs, Samba, WG, Entware - r60xxx

Router: Netgear R7800
Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r61613 std (06/02/25) via CLI flash
File: dd-wrt-webupgrade.bin
Kernel: Linux 6.1.140-rt28 #582 SMP Wed May 28 17:47:06 +07 2025 armv7l
Previous: DD-WRT v3.0-r61542 std (05/30/25) via CLI flash
Reset: No
Mode: Gateway, wlan0 & 1 AP, Android Tethering.
Status: Ok
Uptime: ~1 hour 30 min
Issues/Errors: None except noted as below during CLI flash. See attached logfile of CLI flash. As Alozaros has reported many times (this was not an issue on XR500 previously):
echo s > /proc/sysrq-trigger
echo u > /proc/sysrq-trigger
/sbin/reboot
Which ultimately required going ahead and doing:
Code:
echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger
Looking at the log, I see this during the output of 'write dd-wrt-webugrade.bin linux':
Code:
ubidetach -p /dev/mtd8 -f
Which I don't think applies and is possibly related (?). Port status seems fine. For clarification on mtd8, see below taken from R7800: Small JFFS - 25MB

R7800 upgraded today to build 61613.
Setup, Networking page shows 32768 instead of a 'Root MAC' address for the second bridge in the list (see attachment).
The Root Mac's for the two bridges used to be identical.
I haven't noticed any adverse effect.
EDIT: The output from 'nvram show | grep _hwaddr'
doesn't show the funky 'MAC':
...
brV30_hwaddr=CC:40:D0:49:8C:91
...
EDIT #2:
After clearing all hwaddr values through running @lexridge's reset_hwaddr script (see ...) and rebooting the MAC addresses had changed a bit.
brV30_hwaddr CC:40:D0:49:8C:91 in the above became CC:40:D0:49:8C:92. The number of hwaddr values dropped from about 20 to 12 in my R7800.
The router continues to function as far as I can see.
I don't know how the MAC addresses are supposed to be.
After the reboot lan1, lan2, lan3, lan4, wan, brV30 and lan hwaddr are all identical.
The funky MAC in the GUI (=Prio value 32768) is still there.

Had some time to tinker and try installing and configuring this release on my EA8500.
My EA8500 is just a second router/AP on the network and not the main gateway. It's connected physically to the gateway through its WAN port.
With the older release (r60742) I have the WAN connection type set as disabled with the WAN port assigned to the switch on vlan1 under the switch config page.
With this release installed, my wireless clients were no longer being routed out to the internet - wired clients were all fine. Attempted a reset and manual reconfigure with the same results. On the networking page, the WAN port is assigned to the wan - I don't know if this is correct.
Went back to r60742 and all was fine again.
On r60742, I decided to try disabling the Vlans on the switch config page to try and simplify the configuration further - still working. I also noticed on the networking page the WAN port assignment was set as disabled - shouldn't this be br0 or eth0 instead?
I'll attempt again when I have some free time (or with a future release).

All releases for this router from r60771 onward did away with the Switch Config tab in favor of DSA and Vlan Filtering.
I would recommend screen capturing all your settings pages, upgrade then do a full reset. Reboot twice or eth0 and eth1 may still be present on br0 and should not be (these are replaced by wan, and lan1 - lan4). Then under Basic Setup disable the WAN save & apply. This alone should automatically assign wan to br0. Once verified proceed with your additional setup requirements. _________________ - Linksys EA8500: I-Gateway, WAP/VAP 5ghz only.
