Hi all.
I have looked up some articles on getting ipv6 on the second router. However so far I have not been successful. I was wondering if someone would be able to help point me in the correct direction.
Xfinity cable modem (cable modem only - no router)
Gateway/primary Router: Linksys MR7350 DDWRT DD-WRT v3.0-r60771 std (04/26/25)
Prefix Delegation /60, dnsmasq used for ipv6 RA (I know not up to date - the router is stable and receiving ipv6 and also handing out to LAN clients perfectly. Leaving alone for the time being)
Second Router: Linksys MR5500 Running openwrt snapshot with LUCI.
openwrt seems more stable than DDWRT on the MR5500 at this time.
Currently also set to gateway. Pretty much stock openwrt settings. I am more familiar with DDWRT, but not much beyond the basics.
Connection
Cable Modem -> DDWRT router LAN -> openwrt WAN
Both networks have different subnet
192.168.A.x and 192.168.B.x
I do not want these routers on the same network
I would like figure out how to get IPv6 on the second, openwrt router. Bridge? Pass through?
Intention: Main DDWRT router - keep as gateway. second openwrt router as a dedicated either onion router or openvpn/wireshark router with my vpn.
Any help is appreciated - if what i want to do is achievable. I assume I will be making some adjustment.
