I have been using DD-WRT for more than 10 years and have been fiddling with it successfully with our cable connection.

Now that I have fibre internet, protocol changed to PPoE and need to set internet access with a VLAN for basic connection. Read all I could read on forums and still was not able to make it work. I reverted to Linksys firmware for internet access in the meantime and would like to have a bulletproof step-by-step guide for this simple task (see picture).

Thanks!

Linksys wrt1900ac v1
Built: 41874 or newer (tell me which one I should use)

The following sticky at the top of this forum:
Sticky: VLAN configuration via GUI- 2 CPU ports (all Marvel routers)
Points to the following sticky which was already mentioned:
Sticky: VLAN configuration via GUI - 2 CPU ports (R7800, EA8500 etc)
Also, keep in mind that you may need to use an older build for initial flash before flashing either build mentioned above.

Downloaded latest firmware, entered PPoE credentials. Then what?

What information needs to be added or modified?

I did not change anything under switch config and added Vlan tagging. What do I have to do?

Sorry! I know it is basic, but I simply don't get it!

In your case, change it to 40:

Simple VLAN 7 tagging on the WAN port.
No other settings are necessary.

(change the 7 to the desired VLAN ID)

Feel even more puzzled. Here is config I entered.

There must be something else I am not doing properly.

1) Remove the line entered under Tagging

2) Change WAN to VLAN40 in Networking Tab

No, there is no VLAN40.
The WAN interface is eth0 (default setting)

@Charleswrt1900AC

Do not configure garbage.
Read the thread, all the necessary settings are shown there.

If this is too difficult then dd-wrt is not suitable for you.

again:

There are two options listed in the thread.
You can use one or the other option, but not both together

1. https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=334342&start=1

2. https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=334342&start=5

There is no further help from me, as all you have to do is rename VLAN2 to the desired VLAN and tag the port.

That is 3 clicks that are required
