Hi All

i got a question regarding WDS Setup.
I am currently running 1 WDS Station (xxx.6) in the shed.
It is connected to 1 WDS AP (xxx.5) in the house.
The WDS AP is connected per cable to the Main router (xxx.2)


I have a 2nd AP in the Garage (xxx.7) also conneced via cable to the main router (xxx.2)

Can i configure the WDS Station to connect to the AP in the Garage as well ?
Meaning i set the xxx.7 AP to AP WDS and add the corresponding Mac Adresses in the WDS Tab of the station and vice versa.

I am unsure here, as i would - in effect - create a loop. Plus i am not sure what it does with the channel selection. The Station is on the same Channel as AP WDS (Current) - wich makes sense i guess - and the other AP (xxx.7) is on a different channel. WOuld that be an issue?

The idea is to get the connection a bit more stable and make full use of the available hardware devices.

Notes:
STP is turned on on all routers.
Gateway and DNS on all Units (APs and Station is set to xxx.2)
AP xxx 7 is on channel 13
AP xxx 5 is on channel 5

I don't think you can connect your WDS Station to two different WDS APs, unless you do one on 5ghz and the other on 2.4ghz. This could cause other problems such as a network loop, so you may need to unbridge one of the interfaces.

It seems to me that 802.11s may be a better solution for your configuration.

the full mesh is a tad much for me to set up. My network knowledge is a tad too outdated for that

going to leave it as is for now.

still have some units rebooting randomly wich kinda sucks and i need to fix. sigh.
