Hello
I have installed ddwrt on mr5500 using a manual from wiki. Everything is ok expect a strange Wi-Fi issue.
When set a wi-fi security to WPA2 AES on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio it seems to work ok but after a couple minutes every connected devices are disconnected and I cannot connect to Wifi using previous setting credentials. For example: on first time i tried to connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi and it works for couple minutes, then I tried to connect TV and get wrong credential and I in the same time every connected devices were cutted off. From this point no one can connect to the 5GHz radio, even i unplug router from power and plug again. But 2.4GHz work and lan work ok.
On second time i made factory reset from web panel, updated to r59171 and only set Wan to Automatic DHCP and put WPA2 Personal (AES) on both radio, connected couple devices on both radio and lan, and when i tried to connect TV to 2.4GHz it pop up wrong credential error and got the same issue as above, but 5GHz an lan works fine.
I checked it again. Install again factory to ddwrt and then ddwrt webflash.
If I turn on only WAN and set Wi-Fi security and different ssid for 2,4GHz and 5GHz. If I try connect from tv to 2,4GHz, radio broadcast ssid and no one can access, 5GHz work also LAN.
I tried to restore saved clean settings - only set a admin pass, but after reboot web gui site is unreachable.

I had some trouble with this model as well. It sounds like you're doing quite a bit of configuration after reset each time. Here's my advice:
After doing a reset, perhaps w/ the with the hardware button to be sure, log in, and change WAN to DHCP. Do not make any other changes. Not another single click. Save, reboot. THEN continue with configuration. If I tried to change the WAN setting "and just a few other things while I'm here" it seemed to cause problems.
Per the wiki: **NOTE**: By default, WAN is disabled. You *must* set WAN to Automatic Configuration-DHCP,
Save, and reboot before proceeding. This is a known bug with the SoC.
Unfortunately, the webpanel does not work.
After reset router with hardware button it should go up normally and start broadcast wifi? My router does not do to that...

Might be time to recover with TFTP flashing back to OEM and starting over, or determine your other recovery options. I bought two MR5500s to setup a mesh, but hit issues and gave up on this model. One went back to stock just fine to resell. I bricked the 2nd one somehow. It was stuck on DD-WRT so I tried flashing both partitions to OEM (TFTP) and it didn't survive. It made it back to OEM firmware but refused to reset or accept any more flashing. I ended up going with MR7350's for various reasons and they have been working just fine. Not sure if I have any other advice to offer.
I give up. Tomorrow I will try revert to stock image. Everything was working for 10 minutes and then just pop out from 2.4G wifi. I think that is caused by my Philips Android TV. I Successful connected it to 2.4G radio and after 10 minutes breaks connection. After that, every devices including TV gets wrong credentials when trying to connect 2.4ghz wifi. For the proof, I connect old router and check if tv connect to it. And popped out the same error - wrong credentials. After tv restart, everything works perfectly. I have hope that will be work on stock image.
Have you tried booting from the opposite partition? You can do this by power cycling 3 times, counting to 5 between each cycle. On the forth power-on, it should attempt to boot from the other partition. Also, don't use auto for the wifi channels. Set it to a specific channel of your choice. _________________ - Linksys EA8500: I-Gateway, WAP/VAP 5ghz only. Features: VLANs, Samba, WG, Entware - r60xxx

Hard to say or assume what you have done so far, you will just have to try and see. _________________ - Linksys EA8500: I-Gateway, WAP/VAP 5ghz only. Features: VLANs, Samba, WG, Entware - r60xxx

I don't know how but I have switched partition via telnet and on both is dd wrt.
There is another problem. I can connect to router using telnet in putty but WinSCP cannot.
I found info in some website that I must run SSH at first. But on web panel I have SSH forced disabled. Is there another way to send image to router?
edit:
Ok. I got it. Successful revert to stock image.I have hope that everything will work fine.
On the other hand, tell me should I wait for update ddwrt with fix or this device is crappy and can run only stock image?
If you have a telnet than you can update via telnet as normal CLI update or enable SSh from telnet...
nvram show | grep ssh
nvram set whatever
nvram commit
or use SSh if you believe it will work better...
p.s. linksys-mr5500 firmware is very W.I.P... ATM... _________________ Atheros
