My dd-wrt is a wireless repeater. All clients are wifi.

wlan0 is wan Station connected to internet
wlan0.1 is my lan AP

Web UI Access is Disable for wlan0
Web UI Access is Enable for wlan0.1

I am connected to SSID of wlan0.1 AP

When I try to access Web UI, I get error message "Cannot use the wireless interface to access Web UI"

I don't want Web UI access from internet, but I do want access from internal lan.

Because wlan0 access is disabled because it is WAN, methinks. I believe that the function considers the primary interface, not just the VAP. Could be a bug, but it's always recommended to use wired access to UI.

There is also the fact that you didn't specify which device or firmware version of DD-WRT this is occurring on, which may or may not be important in this case. And in the case of VAPs on the WAN wireless interface, this may be wanted behavior -or- a bug as previously alluded to.

i'm testing linksys wrt160nl with https://download1.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/betas/2024/11-18-2024-r58694/linksys-wrt160nl/

if it's wanted behaviour, why do we have a separate config item? pardon me but i'm dabbling with dd-wrt again after a long time.
