Hello, I am new to dd-wrt. I hope my post won’t offend any.

I have installed dd-wrt on my old Linksys wrt1900ac v1 with the hope of configuring it as a wireless bridge to link ip cameras located in my garage to my main router in my house about 100 feet away.

I have spent quite a bit of time reading posts and setup guides. I am novice at this.

My set up is as follows:

Main router SmartRG (running SMART/OS 10.8.12.1) provided by my fibre optic internet provider. It runs internet TV and provides 2.4 and 5 GHz wifi bands

Client router wrt1900ac v1 running dr-wrt (Firmware: DD-WRT v3.0-r58627 std (11/02/24))

I used this post:

https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=319619

And this guide:

https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Client_Bridged

To configure my wrt1900ac.

The wrt-1900ac is connected to my main router via wifi 5ghz band, and I can access it through its static ip address.
I connected one ip camera to this client router lan port and can access that camera through its web interface and static ip address.

But my main SmartRG router sees 3 ip address associated with the wrt1900ac.

1.1.1.1.
192.168.1.5 (wrt1900ac static ip)
192.168.1.31 (ip camera static ip)

Not sure what is going on?

I triple checked all settings against the guideline and all is ok!

Can someone please help me?

The primary sees 1.1.1.1 where? You need to be more specific. Show us. 1.1.1.1 is a DNS server, so I wouldn't expect it to be listed as a device IP, but it's NOT clear if that's what you're viewing on the primary router. For all we know it's some sort of connection tracking.

Thank you eibgrad for your replay.

Looking at the device list on my router I see that for the linksys wrt1900ac there are 3 ip addresses.

1.1.1.1
192.168.1.31 ( the static ip of the camera)
192.168.1.5 (the static ip of the linksys wrt1900ac)

I don’t know where the 1.1.1.1 comes from it is not in any dd-wrt settings.

The up-caret (^) next to the 1.1.1.1 appears to be for showing/hiding the device IPs below it. Is that the case?

Hard to know what the issue is given the primary router is NOT dd-wrt. I have to assume the error lies w/ the primary router. And given the nature of these device lists (w/ ANY router), odd results isn't unheard of. Such features are based on collecting data from various sources (DHCP, ARP, etc.), then making a "best effort" to make sense out of it. The results are simply not 100% accurate all the time.

Is it causing a problem, or are you just curious?

I think the up carpet is to hide/show the 2 lines below the 1.1.1.1. When I press on it, it hides the 2 ip and turns into a down carpet. All my other devices show only their ip address. Strangely, my main router assigns a host name of one.one.one.one to my linksys wrt1900ac. I have no idea where the 1.1.1.1 ip and host name come from.

The linksys router and the camera have static ip address outside the dhcp range of the primary router.

It links the camera ip (192.168.1.31) to the linksys wrt1900ac router (192.168.1.5) as if the camera does not exist. Don’t know how my primary router gets the 1.1.1.1 ip from?

My problem is that my surveillance station does not see the camera behind the linksys wrt1900ac. I can access the camera manually, however.

I might have set some settings wrong in dd-wrt?
