nope its not DDWRT but rather the R8000 CPU...in fact 700Mbit range is very well for it...
for better performance either try to enable SFE /CT & FA (may need to restart once to appear)
or Get a more capable router like Netgear R7800 / XR500 or even R9000 or XR 700 may be
Dynalink DL-WRX36 would be the better choice consider the heat-sink issues with R9000 / XR700
other questions to arise:
-how do you measure speed wifi, wire, clients capabilities play role into it..
-did you enable SFE of CT&FA if your router has it...
-iptables rules that may also play a role into it and ect... _________________ Atheros
