• Gremlins: reboot. cold boot. Reset & reconfigure not restore backup. Search Trac & discuss in forum before opening tickets.
• Include operating & wireless modes (e.g. Gateway, Router, AP, SB, WDS, Mesh) and applicable configurations to reproduce.
My EA8500 works ok with it, mainly as a bridge. Many before this one does not work good except the one in 2022 works ok. Glad finally it works with 2024 firmware. TOO BAD IT FAILED AFTER AN HOUR>

Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r58464 std (10/05/24), last reset at r58389
Mode/Status: Gateway (SFE), Access Point (DD-WRT firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r/v/k), IPV6 (DHCP6 w/ prefix delegation), Entware, DOT via SmartDNS/DNSMasq, OpenVPN server, Wireguard Server
Issues/Errors:
Up 5.5 hours. USB 3.2 stick working properly for Entware and "jffs" partitions. Speed (tested via nPerf.com) is very close to published, which is equal or favorable to the ISP router. Wireguard and OpenVPN servers both working as expected and throughput sufficient to open video files on network shares.
Random reboots on the last few builds, regardless of the Shortcut Forwarding Engine setting. Already tried several power supplies.
I may try to get a serial log but I haven't cracked this router open yet to see if it has the serial pins (from what I've seen in the forum, many of the MR7350s don't) and my soldering skills are rusty at best. Been about 25 years since I soldered any electronics, and I had access to better tools in college.
Thank you Brainslayer.

Mode/Status: 2 wired access points (DD-WRT firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2/WPA3, 802.11r/v/k, guest network on VAP)

Posted: Wed Oct 09, 2024 21:12 Post subject: WiFi stops broadcasting
The WiFi stops broadcasting on a couple of my Netgear R7800.
Update method: WebGUI
Router/Version: Netgear R7800
Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r58464 std (10/05/24), last reset at r58389
Mode/Status: Gateway (SFE Disabled, SPI enabled), Access Point (Vanilla firmware,2.4GHz, 5GHZ, WPA2), & another in WDS Station mode with a single VAP (not working well)
Issues/Errors:
Edited - Oct 10
The main Netgear R7800's DHCP server / DNSmasq seems to crash and cause the Wireless clients (both WDS stations and regular wireless clients) to lose connection. The WiFi lights on the router are still flashing, as is the WAN light lit. Wired connections usually also stop working as well.
(Old info) - Oct 9 - Wireless radios seem to stop broadcasting correctly after a couple of hours. My devices will say "Connected, no Internet access". It is not the modem, I can hardwire to the modem and it will work fine. A reboot fixes it and then it will happen again. The problem is most present on the main WDS AP, the gateway. If its radios stop broadcasting most of the stations don't connect and then everyone complains about no Internet. _________________ Before asking a question on the forums, update dd-wrt: Where do I download firmware? I suggest reading it all.

Bootloops and resets once you enable Tunnels RFC 3378 EOIP. The Alpha Release posted by lexridge on 9/11/2024 R58376 completely fixed this. But every beta since goes to bootloop and reset to defaults since. Matter of fact if you leave everything as default and go to tunnels and turn it on, select the RFC 3378 EOIP then hit apply that is all it takes. You do not have to do anything else. This is on the Linksys MX4300. Please check in to this. I am not sure what changed from the ALPHA release found here.
Previous Firmware Alpha With Some Magic Sauce Worked

@lexridge please give this a try. just enable the RFC 3378 EOIP and select apply. I have include the strings log as well. Thanks,
Here is a link to the thread with the alpha r58376 mx4300 release that everything with tunnels, wireguard server/client is all working. USB/NAS VPN, both in DHCP wan and Static WAN.
Let me know if I can test something. _________________ 5 Linksys MX4300 LN1301 DD-WRT v3.0-r58376 std (09/11/24)

Don't forget, if the crashes are being caused by a kernel dump, you can retrieve it without a serial connection by typing:
Code:
strings /dev/mtd20
If all you get back is a list of UBI# then the kernel has not crashed and the problem is elsewhere. _________________ - Linksys EA8500: I-Gateway, WAP/VAP 5ghz only. Features: WDS-AP, VLANs, Samba, WG, Entware - r58819

I did not know that. I checked now but all I got was UBI#. I'll check again after the next reboot. _________________ __________________________

The fact is that the router connected to the Internet (to the Internet provider). And it reports an error, the orange WAN indicator flashes (the icon in the form of a planet). Internet is working, I just think it's a glitch
