I wonder what the other using which kind of USB connection.
I bought a SSD Portable connection USB3 not USB2, it really works, but it will be too hotter to be normal after some minutes. I maybe think again using HDD portable...
Thanks. Because current 6.1.107 is same as kernel.org latest version
I wonder what the other using which kind of USB connection.
I use the USB 3.0 USB 2 for a external fan mounted to my WRT3200ACM, and it's reported that the last working USB 2 is r53633. I tried r58244 no help. Fan will start, but turns off shortly after router boots up.
That is odd. I'm on 58244 at ~3days, 15:45 hours of uptime and USB fan connected to USB/eSATA port on WRT3200ACM is working fine, so is the other USB port for USB2.0 flash drive (I don't have USB3 hardware to test). So, I don't know what the common denominator is, but we need serial logs and configuration items that affect this.
If that is the case you obviously didn't do reset to factory defaults. Maybe that is the problem! Everyone else is just webflash.bin without the reset to factory defaults. IDK
This update seem work very well and USB 3 working too. only one trouble when I set up samba on router. Clients can download file from USB ok but when upload file from android ok but with windows it show permission errors and cant upload file.
Now I setup FTP server and NFS server and it seem both are working very well on both up and download files on USB .
Router/Version: Linksys WRT3200ACM DD-WRT v3.0-r58283 (09/02/24)
File/Kernel: Linux 6.1.107-rt28 #707 SMP Mon Sep 2 12:11:20 +07 2024 armv7l
Previous/Reset: Reset to default settings webflash.bin both partitions
Mode/Status: DHCP/AP/Ignore WAN DNS/Dnsmasq/OpenVPN Client NordVPN
Issues/Errors: None
UPDATE: wlan0, and wlan1 originally had Short Preamble in both radios disabled in older builds. Both are enabled by default in build r58283 I disabled Short Preamble in both radios in advanced settings. SFE (Shortcut Fowarding Engine) Enabled still by default.
If using OpenVPN Client and have found no connection to VPN server after updating to newer builds, please add disable-dco to your OpenVPN Additional Config it will fix your connection issues. Thanks to the one in charge of change logs!

DCO (Data Channel Offload) added. As it is a WIP it can cause connection problems so in case of problems (no connection or connection but hang or no traffic) disable it, add in the OpenVPN Additional config: disable-dco
Enable Core USB Support for the users with USB fans. Fan will start after saving and applying changes ?Originally disabled by default on older builds?/, and fan just worked.
If having VPN Client connection problems get connection with above before trying to Change MTU settings.... I changed mine to 1500, and lost connection again. (NordVPN)
Router/Version: Linksys WRT1200ac v1
File/Kernel: r58283
Previous/Reset: r57956 No reset
Mode/Status: Gateway, loss of vpn
Issues/Errors: Lost VPN connection, reverted to r57956 with no issue and regained VPN connection
Everything works great with r58283 and other releases after r57956 but simply does not allow VPN to connect. Adding "disable-dco" to the vpn clients Additional Configuration allows the connection process to go further but does not fix the problem. Seems ProtonVPN is not compatible with releases after r57956 but works great with r57956.
For community benefit, ProtonVPN fully supports wireguard and the DD-WRT wireguard client _is_ working with ProtonVPN on wireguard.
ProtonVPN even supports wireguard for connections to its free (non-subscription) servers (tested a few builds back).
I personally would not use any (non-work) VPN service _unless_ it supported wireguard, but hey, to each their own.
