Hi,

As I am looking for small travel router WireGuard capable, I found GL.iNet routers really nice option. Model GL-AR150 is supported but not available for purchasing.

Here two questions come:
1. I would be happy to donate a router or send a cash donation for a router which could be added to list of supported ones
2. If answer to 1 is yes, which one of these two would be the best option: GL-A1300 or GL-MT3000? I guess the first one, as its chip is already supported while the latter one is pretty new WiFi 6.

Please advise if this makes sense and router could be added to supported ones within couple of months.

Thanks.

It seems that people do not understand that you *must* *first* do some homework on what hardware is inside and that development doesn't happen overnight.
  1. GL-A1300 is a currently supported Qualcomm IPQ SoC similar to Asus RT-AC58U/RT-ACRH13:
    https://openwrt.org/toh/gl.inet/gl-a1300
  2. GL-MT3000 is a currently unsupported MediaTek SoC:
    https://wikidevi.wi-cat.ru/GL.iNet_GL-MT3000_(Beryl_AX)

I don't think there is much interest in MediaTek, but you would acquire these via Amazon.de or some other European market vendor to avoid return by German Customs and then ensure that the folks in Bensheim sends them to Dresden.

There was already an unanswered query until now that was made last year:

Beryl AX - Travel Router (GL.iNet GL-MT3000)

Thanks for response. Homework, that is exactly what I have done I think. That is why I say that GL-A1300 is probably better option as the chip is already supported. I was just looking for confirmation.

I can buy the router and ship it to Germany from EU, so no Custom Office issues.

Shall I proceed this way? Where to send it?

Homework = WikiDevi or other hardware information linked, typed out, hi-res photos of internals attached, serial boot log on OEM firmware, fullflash dump of OEM firmware. Seems like since most of the old salts have become dormant, nobody has any idea of what I'm referring to.

I didn't think the "donations" link / info was that difficult to find?

https://dd-wrt.com/donations/

The shipping address info should be in the form linked on that page.
