Router Model: Netgear R7000
Firmware Version: DD-WRT v3.0-r58531 std (10/09/24)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.302-rt232-st56 #12452 SMP Tue Oct 8 09:04:45 +07 2024 armv7l
Previous/Reset: DD-WRT v3.0-r57707 / No
Mode/Status: 2.4 AP - 5GHz AP - OpenVPN
Issues/Errors: SSID of 5GHz AP was reset to "hidden"; the reset actually occurred during an aborted upgrade to r58389, but the upgrade to r58531 -- shortly afterwards -- didn't restore the original SSID. The SSID was manaully restored.

Router/Version: Asus RT-AC87U R
Update method: WebUpgrade
File/Kernel: asus_rt-ac87u-firmware.trx_58531 std / Linux 4.4.302-rt232-st56 #12460 SMP Wed Oct 9 04:43:37 +07 2024 armv7l
Previous/Reset: r58464 / no
Mode/Status: Gateway, Open VPN Client / Up and running for 6:21 hours
CPU Temperature: CPU 70.1 °C / WL0 42.0 °C / WL1 0.0 °C (ambient temperature 20.0 °C)
Issues/Errors: no

As always, the Quantenna chip has its own quirks. This is a closed source chipset
There is no way to install a channel. Crying or Very sad
But you can disable 5.0 GHz. @mpgalaxy hack "If you set the radio mode to station bridge and disable the network mode, the 5GHz device will turn off completely even after reboot." Wink

The fact is that the router is connected to the Internet (to the Internet provider). And it reports an error, the red WAN indicator flashes (the icon in the form of a planet). The internet works, I just think it's a glitch.
But this does not affect the work.
Just relax
Cool

1. CPU temperature is not displayed correctly.
CPU temperature readings started changing after one second from 68.1 - 70.1 °C

Thank you BS and gurus! Wink

Asus RT-N66U (as WAP): DD-WRT v3.0-r58531 big (10/09/24)
Linux 4.4.302-rt232-st56 #33548 Wed Oct 9 05:10:00 +07 2024 mips
Previous: 48218

CLI update, no problem. But...

Linksys EA6900 (xVortex CFE, as gateway) would not update; tried a bunch of things. Always keeps the previous version:
DD-WRT v3.0-r55179 std (c) 2024 NewMedia-NET GmbH (02/24/24)

I tried CLI and GUI updates, messed with 'bootpartition', etc. Also tried a few previous versions. What have y'all been using lately for EA6900 + xVortex?

Ah... I saw reference to that when researching this; and needing to upgrade via CFE, but I have this set up for my sis-in-law (not nearby...visiting) and my travel laptop doesn't have a LAN port so I didn't want to mess with that. I missed this (very) key part though in my haste...
egc wrote:
to make matters worse on builds past 55XXX you cannot update via the command line any more as mtd write always tries to write to the second boot partition (linux 2).
/facepaw
...that would have saved me an hour today. Neutral I even noticed the CLI upgrade output had a line that mentioned 'linux2', which seemed suspicious. Thanks egc Cool

Update: I was able to update to this build using the CFE webserver w/ static IP (hold reset at powerup until the lights starts blinking):
Linksys EA6900: DD-WRT v3.0-r58531 (10/09/24)
Linux 4.4.302-rt232-st56 #12452 SMP Tue Oct 8 09:04:45 +07 2024 armv7l

Unfortunately it didn't fix the internet issues even with a GUI reset. But 'nvram erase' fixed it along with the logo light (no longer need the gpio startup script, and it doesn't turn off when running GUI Commands).

Router Model: Linksys EA6900 (XVortex CFE)

Firmware Version: Firmware by egc: DD-WRT v3.0-r58531M Community Build (10/14/24)
Kernel Version: Linux 4.4.302-rt232-st56 #1 SMP Mon Oct 14 11:44:40 CEST 2024 armv7l

Upgraded from Firmware by egc: DD-WRT v3.0-r58381M Community Build (09/13/24) using patched build so GUI update is working without a problem for this Xvortex CFE upgrade 😃

Reset: No not this time.

Configuration: Default gateway mode, 2,4GHz wireless running with unbridged VAP, 5GHz running, some static leases and some port range forwarding.
Four WireGuard tunnels running, one Server, one site-to-site and two clients in Fail-over group to Mullvad (of course with PBR to allow the WG server to use the WAN).
OpenVPN client with PBR running.
DDNS (dynv6) working.
IPv6 working.
CTF&FA Enabled
NVRAM size 56K (NVRAM size should not be a problem with the Xvortex CFE)

Status: Up and stable for 8 hours

Errors: syslog shows some entries in UTC instead of local time. Anybody else noticed this?

Thanks BS!!

Yes, dates appear to be mixed in syslog
(Time: 23:14:20 up 11 min, load average: 0.00, 0.22, 0.27) Some are correct for 14/Oct (now), some are from 15/Oct.

Looks like a few things. For one, I think this line is incorrect now:

https://github.com/mirror/dd-wrt/blob/master/src/router/busybox/sysklogd/syslogd.c#L363

And neither of the following previous patches are present:

https://github.com/mirror/dd-wrt/commit/7a5c5d2f40d0c57f9ed9921c676c4d906b5329a0
https://github.com/mirror/dd-wrt/commit/ac82c9143404dd5c8d58ca5312c2fc5bfe623821

Going to send info up the food chain.
