Just wait until the lawsuits start pouring in. CrowdStrike could be forced out of business from this carelessness. Why wasn't this update tested before being pushed out...and who allows auto updates like this to happen? Jeeze!

This mostly affected Enterprise systems from what I understand. This update was not pushed through official Microsoft Update channels that I'm aware of. I won't name specific companies, but I do know of folks out there still supporting EOL systems that people interact with daily. Y'all are out there shopping at these places and ordering from their online stores. Don't get me started on Point-Of-Sale systems and ATMs. Of course, I'm wondering in the back of my mind if this has anything to do with one of my banks' systems being held hostage for two weeks.
I happened to be in Houston attending a relative's funeral when the CrowdStrike incident hit the news.
Being told of a bug in Crowstrike's software update, I recall my part in performing a planned step-by-step testing of any software upgrade on a TEST system prior to its rolling out on production platform, over the weekend, at various education institutions. We did not fail once.
My flight, departing from George Bush International Airport, was delayed for a good several hours as a result. Got home safely though.
I bloody hate Winders.
