Hi.

Im using usingDD-WRT v3.0-r50176 std (09/15/22) on a R7800

I was checking the last fw version, and found the AFTER 53633 the usb3 is port is NOT working/recognized.

-Does the usb port fail with every router or just with some model ?
-Is it a explicit will or an unwanted bug (=why older version works) ?
-Which is the last version to flash, if someone is using a usb key with jffs ?

My guess would be all routers.

I'm seeing the same behavior on both an R7800 and on a Linksys WRT1900AC v1 (Marvell chipset). In both cases the USB2 port is non-functional and USB1 only works if it's a USB 2.0 drive. I ended up buying a cheap 5 pack of USB 2.0 64GB thumbdrives. All drives are formatted as ext2 using Ubuntu.

Haven't tried it but maybe putting a USB 2.0 hub between a USB 3.0 device and the port would work.

Please provide exact steps to reproduce and logs. One port on my WRT3200ACM powers the cooling fans and the other port is saving logs to USB flash drive among other things on 56820. My R7800 uses USB flash drive for unbound configs and other things and is configured for Android Tethering on same build.

Drives
1. 16GB SANDisk USB 3.0 drive.
2. 64GB generic USB 2.0 drive.

Both formatted using the Linux Command Line instructions in the following article: https://wiki.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/How_to_-_Format_and_Partition_External_Storage_Device. Have tried formatting using both ext2 and ext4. No difference in the results. In either case, the Disk Info status shows ext4. Brainslayer previously mentioned that this is cosmetic only.

Screenshot of the USB tab settings below. Only difference between the two drives is the UUIDs, which I set correctly for each drive. Reboot after settings change.

Scenarios
1. Drive 1 inserted into USB2 port. Updated UUIDs and rebooted. Disk Info on the USB page shows no drive information. It's like the drive is not plugged in.
2. Drive 1 inserted into USB1 port. Updated UUIDs and rebooted. Disk Info on the USB page shows partitions mounted, but "cd /jffs" followed by "ls" shows only the Lost+Found folder. Similar results for /opt. Can't create a folder, can't copy files to the partition. No previously installed Entware programs are accessible.
3. Drive 2 inserted into USB2 port. Updated UUIDs and rebooted. Disk Info on the USB page shows no drive information. It's like the drive is not plugged in.
4. Drive 2 inserted into USB1 port. Updated UUIDs and rebooted. Disk Info on the USB page shows partitions mounted, and all files and subfolders are visible in the /jffs and /opt folders. Works as expected.

Have two disks connected. Both are working.
Be aware that the port on the right side of the router is a SATA Port.

I find it unlikely 4 different routers (2 R7800s and 2 WRT1900ACs) could have the same hardware issue. In any case, USB 2.0 works for my purposes.
